SFMW Online adds new photos of Marine World construction

On May 13, 2001, I was able to take a trip to Six Flags Marine World in Vallejo, California. The construction of V2 is moving along and the twisted spike is halfway complete. The station is starting to take shape as well.

On the other side of the park, Cougar Rocks (a new animal exhibit) is now open. Land clearing for the skycoaster has continued since last weekend and they have the supports now on site.

Looks good! Seeing it in person this weekend was really awesome, I hope I can make it back up there to ride this little piece of insanity.
Cool, still waiting for my V2 to open.

SFGAm: SCREAM. THRILL. REPEAT. Two New Coasters in 2001!
Is it just me, or does the beginning of the twisted spike look exactly the same as SUE and the other V2 which are both 180ft tall. Does this mean that the twist may actually be shorter than the others or that the coaster may turn out to be 180ft instead of 150ft
From looking at the vertical spike of V2 and looking at the first drop of Medusa, I think that V2 is much taller than Medusa. It looks like the vertical spike of V2 is about 30 to 40 feet taller than the first drop of Medusa. But, looks can be deciving.
I think that 150' may not be true. I count the same amount of cross-ties on SFGAM's 185' V2 as on SFMW's coaster. Just don't tell the city and hope that they aren't reading this :)
