SFMW and Animal Art

This is quite possibly the strangest thing I've seen in a while.

Six Flags Marine World has apparently trained their animals to paint. Yes, you heard that right, paint. Their beautiful fingerpaint-esque designs are selling for up to 100 dollars.

Who would buy this, lol? Man, some news is just too good to be made up.

Knotts Halloween Haunt- Everyone has to go sometime....

They've done this for a long, long time. For $400 you can get an elephant car wash. :)

Awwww....I like Wilbur. Can I take 'im home?

So do they donate some of the money to wildlife funds of any kind? Does the money go into buying better facilities for the animals they have there or is someone just pocketing it somewhere along the line? I would think about buying it if it went back to the animals in some way.

I know it is a long trip, but they sell the art in one of the gift shops during the regular season and they might be able to answer your questions there if you are able to visit. You could also call the park and ask. :)

Does anyone else think this is as ridiculous as I do? Kinda like paying to have a star named after you.
I actually think it's kind of cute. Definitely better if they use the proceeds to further the cause of the animals, though.

Yeah, I have to admit that even though I have kids that can (and do) paint similar pictures, that the idea is just stupid enough to interest me.

"Oh, that? Some dolphin at an amusement park painted it."

They're really stretching things trying to pull themselves out of debt aren't they? ;)
