We parked in a very empty lot, made the long walk into the park entrance. But before we had to wait to be screened by metal detectors.
Terrorism sucks...
After that we got our passes done, as explained above. I knew Roar had one train, and saw that Kong had one train and a full queue! I did that exact same thing on my first ever coaster ride on that very coaster! Thats a 2 hour wait! Heck no! Medusa was also broken down. I went back to ride Dinosphere. My dad had never been, and I rode the ride in 2000 and remembered the horrible capacity. It was also in only 2d then, but finnally they have it back running in 3d and WOW what a difference it makes! This ride is awesome! But thier are some MAJOR peeves with the ride I have. I know the pre show room is small, and it was stupid to design it that way, but the theater was only 60% full at the most! There was a long line outisde that once didn't move for 15 minutes! The moving and roaring dinosaurs in the queue were also off. Oh well at least the ride was worth it once the line started moving! The preshow and theater were very loud, I am not talking about the sound in the theater, but the kids screaming and the ride op, the acoustics in thier are really loud. The kids screaming really got annoying. The ride is also dark, (so are PGA's sims whats up?) The whole ride is animated and your really trying to dodge a t rex almost the whole time. Good fun.
We went to the car to ride ourselves of excess stuff we were carrying. We came back, and my dad and I were kinda mad. The weather was cold and cloudy, and our day was bad, there was crowds everywere. We were going to ride Roar but the line was a bit long, so I had a hunch our day would be quickly turned around by..
Medusa 4 laps 9.99-10
Kong still had a full queue, but I saw Medusa had 2 trains and was back online so I knew the wait wouldn't be that bad and I would get a nice ride. Well, upon entering the queue, it was deserted! I had heard and saw a long line in the morning, but I guess all the brakedowns and all the people in Kong's queue kept people away! Just a couple train wait for most rows and a few more train wait for the front. We decided to ride in the back of the train and went to the last row. My dad had no place to put his cars keys so a nice girl next to us oppted to hold them in her zipper pocket. Thanks, that was very helpful and nice! Well away we go and man that's one heck of a first drop, just like I remembered it! 2nd to only Goliath to me. The ride ripped thourgh the course and quickly stopped any thoughts that the cold, damp weather could tame this beast. The zero g roll, and sea serpent, back to back are real good, and the floorless affect lets you feel really unrestricted. The ride fresh off this offseason, was head bang or tap free, and even though I could hear the train shake a little, it was a flawless ride. Boy is this one fine piece of B&M steel.
Next we did the new ski show, sea Lion show, shark, and Walrus exhibits. The exhibts are real cool, and I think it was just as fun for the Walrus's to watch us, as it was for us to look at them. Shark expeirence is still cool.
I am happy to see the new ski show back, it is right on par with the old Killer Whale show as the best SFMW/MW show I have even had the privlage of taking in. The Sea, and sea lion show is exactly what I expected, a cute, comical fun show. It was set to a spin off of Giligan's Island. At the end of the show, a girl got picked to vouelner, right on the spot, she got out of her seat, the trainer held her hands up and the girl got SOAKED by the seal. Oh man that was cold! Then we moved onto Roar
Roar had one train but still a low wait, just past the tunnel under the station. It only had one train, but the crew was great, dispatches were barely over a minute! They were very friendly to, and when people were mad about some fastlaners ( who I didn't see much of today at all) The op said, " For 9.99 you could purshace Fastlane, and ride the ride with no wait" The ride was as fast as ever! The one train thats on site now is really getting lose, and a lot of work in making it fly around the track. Great ride!
Then we walked over to animal Adventure, Looking a V2 it's still tall, and the Ham in Rye, ripe ops were yelling in the midways about their attraction being the best in the park no stop! Of course I didn't ride :) I am really happy SFMW changed their music to a much upbeat, and louder style, going to Roar a good hard rock song was playing, then on the way out, I heard, The Batman, James Bond and Star Tours themes! All on the way to Animal Adventure. We got over to Animal Adventure to check out some animals, mainly Tiger Island Splash attacktack. What I didn't expect to find, was countless numbers of animals and found out, this park is quite big! People don't even know that this whole new world exhists back here and its great! Tiger Island was great and the trainers were talking about how they, and the tigers will move to SFWOA eventually.
So that was my day at SFMW I had a real fun time and got to see what I am already going to do next time I come, I love season passes!
Thursday is my next TR, as I invade SCBB on the best spring break ever!
So, let me get this straight, you ditched Kong, the best SLC in the states? Someone should have told you that Kong always has the longest waits in the park, maybe because they know its not in Six Flags danger. It was also one of the few attraction Marine World added themselves so everybody came attached. It is also one of the few SLCs with an on ride photo.
How rough was Roar? It's been getting a little rough lately and I wondering how long it will hold in.
I hope you got time to ride the best flat ride collection in California ;) Jambo, Voo Doo, The Ark, Tasmanian Devil, Hammerhead, and Walk-a-bout can really keep you going.
Was White Water Safari running yet or is it still dried out? Also, did you get t osee the Toya concert?
Also, I disagree with you about Kong being the best SLC. I've only been on one other, but I thought it was much smoother and faster.
BTW, nice report, but how can a coaster get 9.99 out of 10? Just give it a 10! :)

Yeah, Kong has a great setting. It's over a bunch of weeds.

I can't even spot a weed under Kong. Do those look like weeds to you? At least Kong has a theme to it, the landscape, station house, entrance, que, and shack are all in jungle setting unlike most SLCs.
Wait a second, White Water Safari was drained out when Toya was there.

Dude, please take your eyes and move them up to the post I made at 12:38:11 a.m. Thank you.
With that said, when I was at SFMW in 1999, Kong had a bunch of weeds, dirt, basically nothing. Apparantly after I left they put in these lava rocks and painted it.

Before the lave rocks, there was dirt and some red mulch.
