SFMM Stealing Attention?

I was wondering if anyone else noticed that Magic Mountain always seems to take the attention away from all of the other six flag parks. whenever there is a tv special on all they ever focus on is SFMM. And how come SFMM can get so many new rides in such a short period of time??? Anythoughts???

becuase there is alot of population around.. and the population help SFMM earn money and the money makes coasters. hehe

SFMM gets so many new rides because they have a huge market area. If the people come, so will new coasters.

As somone else said in an earlier post, "It's all about the money."

what u said makes sense, still it would be nice for other six flag parks like great america to get some recognition sometimes.

They get a lot of attention because they have a lot of expensive coasters. They have a lot of expensive coasters because they have a market that supports expensive coasters. The market exists in part because of Disneyland and KBF not to mention the huge local population and nice rollercoaster riding weather.

Not necessarily so. If that were the case, you'd have mega-parks all over the place. Market conditions vary from place to place. You can't just build anything anywhere and expect a good ROI.

Well, like www.KiNeTicZero.com said Los Angeles is a VERY big city and that is where SFMM gets a lot of their crowd. Also I know I travel from San Francisco to go there. A lot of my friends do too so that means that SFMM is getting some of the bay area down there. That's a lot of visitors. So they need new rides to keep people coming. If they don't they'll lose out to DL and KBF.

I don't want any attention. I just want one thing. A NEW COASTER AT SFDL. By the way SFDL is half way between Buffalo and Rochester New York. It also isn't far from Toronto. So I don't know why SFDL hasn't got a coaster since '99 when parks like SFWoA and SFMM get up to three coasters a year.

So what if SFMM gets at minimum, a coaster a year. Haven't you heard that one saying..."A park gets a new thrill ride every year and a new big coaster every four years." Well SFMM is an acception.

SFMM is the one six flags park thats trying for the record of most attractions, hence all the media attention and word of mouth popularity

Acutally no, they are trying for the record of most coasters, competing with CP. Dont deny it. SFGAdv HAS the record of most attractions in the park.

Cedar Point and Magic Mountain are not competitors(TM).

Did anyone ever think that SFMM gets alot of attention because they are the only SF park that is open all year long? Being in California gives it a big boost also. Now, if they had one in Florida, then they would be golden. They dont compete with CP and they have no intentions of starting. SFWOA is the only park that would consider any competition with CP.

Hey good point...I don't know any other year-round operating Six Flags park other than SFMM...do YOU?

The only, and I mean ONLY thing CP and SFMM would be competing for would be records. Two parks that are 2,293 miles away simply don't compete for visitors.

MM is the best park. I live in the UK, and apart from disney, the 1st American Park I knew of was SFMM, because of Colossus...........
