sfmm question?

Hi people! I am new here. I just wanted to ask about the day I should go to sfmm. Should I go on Thanksgiving day or the day before that on Wednesday? I just want to avoid the huge crowds and ride X at least 2 times along with the other rides. Thanks.
Hmmm. Wed. most people will be at work or at school, but the park is open from 10-6. While on Thurs people are off, but it is Thanksgiving, so I wouldn't expect a huge crowd. Also the park is open from 10-8. I do not know how many people would be there. But wither way it is Nov. I wouldn't expect large crowds, especially for a weekday. But I have never gone to SFMM in November.

Welcome one and all, y'all come have a ball!
Things a bear-y fine, ridin' on the old Knott's bear-y line!

Don't go on Friday or Saturday, the big holiday weekend days. Thanksgiving will be light, as well as sunday. Wednesday would be the best day by far though, no one has that day off from work or school.
Thanksgiving? The park will be deserted.... oh wait nevermind people in california have no family traditions and none are christians and almost none of them eat meat so it'll be packed. (J/K!!!!)

I have school off Tuesday and Wednesday. But then again, I do live in Illinois.;)

If you don't have anything nice to say don't say ANYTHING at all.

Thanks a lot guys! I guess I'll be going on Wed. and Sunday. I hope X will be open one day and Deja Vu on the other.

How has x been running lately?

I was there on Sunday, and both X and Deja Vu were open. Regardless of when you decide to go, hit X first! I made the mistake of not doing so, and hence did not ride that day.

The only coasters not open were Flashback and Psyclone. No big deal. :)

That coaster operated all those years with just a single lap bar, what makes the state of california beliveve their was anything wrong with just using one lap bar for safety concerns? i just dont get it

Don't waist your time and money. If Cedar Point was open year-round, I'd go there! Usually when I go to a Six Flags park, a majority of the rides are shut down.

Contrary to popular belief, SFMM on Thanksgiving will be quite busy. Today would be the day to go.

I'd like to thank you for this very insightful comment. I can tell you put a lot of thought into it.

Moving on, last Sunday at SFMM, the only rides closed were Flashback (and thats to be expected), Psyclone (for retracking work), the Circus Wheel (Tilt-a-whirl), and the Metro (monorail that I have yet to see operating). None of these rides are a big deal at all.

Sooner or later, I will get around to writing up a TR to mention what a good day I had there.

FYI, it's raining all over So-Cal today. You might want to check the weather report before going, but X and Deja will not operate if there is any rain at all - even a light drizzle. If the temperatures are low as well, Deja's not gonna run (I believe it's 59 degrees and under. Maybe someone else here knows for sure.

Hopefully this all blows over before your trip. Good Luck!

Adam, you may want to check your weather report, As I type this message, I happen to be in Sherman Oaks (20 miles south of SFMM) and the weather couldn't be nicer. Sunny, warm and a bit windy. There are clouds in the sky, but no sign of rain right now.

Nothing... NOTHING... can prepare you for... the Fourth Dimension!

I am in the Santa Clarita Valley and it is as sunny as can be... However, high winds continue to roam through here.

I'm down in San Diego and it's been raining off and on all day. The news report down here said that the system is moving North. Glad to hear that they are wrong, as they normally are. Sorry for the mis-information.

Hi guys! I just got home from a wonderful day at a very empty sfmm. The weather was warm with cool breezes and every coaster was running 2 trains...except for deja vu(j/k). X is running better and I still love deja Vu's vertical spikes, although it is a little bumpier. Thank you guys for helping me out.
