Why would they do a mailing to someone in Iowa for a park that far away? Doesn't sound like a good use of marketing $$ to me.
"Heavily medicated for your safety!"
That company is so wrong on so many levels that I just can't for the life of me understand how the board continues to be OK with the current management team.

Back in the 90's we used to always see Six Flags commercials and what not. Nowadays we get nothing at all except for random soda can advertisements. You would think they would gear this promotion towards people with a 3 to 4 hours drive. After all the Las Vegas Valley has over a million people and many of us go to the Southern California parks quite often.

Stupid SFMM, what are they thinking?
But then again, some people are just looking for excuses to bash...

If most people alreghty go there, why would SF waste marketing dollars on you. Hell, there are people in Iowa who haven't even heard of SFMM, those are the ones who they need to try and get in the gate!!!
Ok...I can see that. BUT, they show commercials and have promotions all over Southern California (they have a large local attendance base) so why not here as well?
...and such
The weird part is that of all the SF parks I've been to, some *many times over*, I have NEVER once graced their entrance....maybe it's their way of saying "come on up, we need the PR"...;)

Well, they wouldn't bash....if the park didn't deserve bashing. :)
But nobody bashes high and mighty CF for losing a million attendees at SFWOA in one year. One...million...people! An attendance drop of greater than 50 percent! Bad reputation-Six Flags messed up-no more fishies blah blah blah my ass.

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.
Cedar Fair might have lost attendence at SFWOA this past year, but I had excellent times at Cedar Point and countless great times at Knott's thanks to cleanliness, high capacity, and friendly staff.
I don't think SFMM was always this bad. It just seems they've let their rides and service go to heck.
I don't think being a fan has much to do with most of the opinions here. People don't support parks the way they support sports teams. Folks just want to have the most fun for their money. They also want to see all parks to be all that they can be. And it stinks to see an entire chain being flushed down the toilet.
