SFMM Crowds and Coasters

Generally, in the past, in your experience, how busy do you think SFMM might be this year on the weekend of March 16? Busy, average, or ghost town?

And, in your opinion, what are the "must-ride" coasters?

well, I would imagine...X is a must ride

OK...I know this will sound like I'm flamming you but how the heck can we accurately predict the crowd on a particular day?  There are so many things that can determine crowd:  weather, are there any school or church trips planned, is the park having a concert or special promotion?

Geez people...if you're going to any park on a weekend, just expect it to be crowded, OK?

First of all, that weekend shouldn't be too bad crowd-wise, except for, as Mamoosh said, weather has a lot to do with the crowd.  If it is too cold, the crowd tends to be lighter.  That particular weekend, SFMM is only open Saturday (10-10) and Sunday (10-8).  I myself prefer to go on Sundays as I find the crowd less frantic and a much more relaxed atmosphere.  Spring break for a lot of people isn't until the following week (generally the weeks before and after Easter), so you'll find more locals at the park than tourists that weekend.  As for coasters that are a "must":  'X' is a definite, and fork out the extra $15.00 for a Fast Lane pass for four rides; Goliath; Deja Vu; Riddler's Revenge, Batman: The Ride; Viper; Superman: The Escape, and Colossus.  If you have time:  Ninja, Psyclone, Revolution and Flashback (if you dare!!)

Dont skip GoldRusher. Not that its a great ride, but there is never a line for it and it is worth a spin.

Check the web site for "physics day". I think its right around that time and I had the unfortunate luck of going on a physics day. Hundreds of bus loads of kids with g-force scales and worksheets. EEESH!!!!

FYI - Physics Day is Sunday, March 10th this year.
