Growing up east of the Mississippi, my first exposure to Colossus came via Vacation, so it's good to know that the ride was once as impressive as it looked. Dare I mention Colossus' Vacation co-star, Revolution...
I didn´t have much woodie knowledge back then and maybe I would have been excited by everything on my first US trip, but it certainly was as good as the Santa Cruz Big Dipper and The Coney Island Cyclone.
I even preferred it to the American Eagle at SFGAM which was another stop-over. Colossos had very good air in the back. The small hill after the second drop was great and the double up and down was wild and fun. The only thing that was a little boring were the huge turns, but I guess this is just because the trains didn´t race.
Oh, I nearly forgot Rolling Thunder which even in 1990 was a washboarding nightmare and the first woodie I have experienced where I just wanted to get out.
Pass da' sizzrup, bro!
Colossus and Psyclone trains are certainly interchangeable because the track gauge is the same, but they're not the same trains. Colossus (usually) runs Morgan trains, while Psyclone (usually) runs trains built by B&M.
Some clarification is still in order.
One thing the Morgan [Colossus] and B&M [Psyclone] trains have in common is that the brake fins are off center but on opposite sides of the train.
That means in order to run Psyclone's trains on Colossus and be able to stop it they must run backwards, and vice versa.

Wondering....would the Morgans from Colossuck help Psucklone at all? The trackwork is pre-destroyed, but perhaps the lighter Morgan train would lessen the destruction of Psucklone...running backwards on ANY Cy-clone would be a cool thing too...
You know, those headrests on Psyclone's trains are there for a reason...

Seriously, it would take WAY more effort to make something decent out of Psucklone than to just *taer it down* and start from scratch....as Poppy on Seinfeld told us: "on that, there can be no debate". ;).
But, since I'm *not quite right*, I'd do the month or two of chiropractic adjustments for that one "harrowing" ride....even *I* wouldn't want to try it twice....:)
Zingo! - He doesn't actually ride, he's just standing next to it. I'm guessing he's standing next to Colossus since most of the video is filmed there or at the Santa Cruz boardwalk.
The coolest parts of the video would have to be the interview with John Allen and Arrow "Development", shots of Colossus construction, and original Mr. Twister POV.
