SFMM Closure Announcement?

Somone recently mentioned a Magic Mountain closure announcement. Is this park really closing, or were these people being sarcastic? I couldn't find a topic so I thought I would ask.

Kyle - Six Flags is looking into the option of selling SFMM along with a few others [SFEG, Wild Waves] but no official announcement has been made. There's a news thread about it in the last few months...check there.
Oh ok...thanks...I checked the Forum Thread but that search thing messed up so I took the lazy way out. ;)

Sorry but the forum search doesn't really help me either.

SOB's biggest fanboy!
The only park that is officially taking bids is Darien Lake. SFMM, SFEG, SFGA are other parks being looked at to sell. The one that still blows me away though is SFMM. Maybe I'm the only one, but I have always considered SFMM & SFGA as the two flagship parks for the chain. Plus, that this is coming up so soon after they just dumped a ton of money into building Tatsu and reconfiguring the whole park for it, and SFGA building both Kingda Ka & El Toro in the past few years. It's mind boggling for me!

What I've read though seems to point at both SFMM & SFGA as being parks that would help them save lots of money for the company, and that the land would be prime for building housing or other businesses on instead. I want to see SF succeed, I really do, but things look really shaky IMO. *** Edited 8/27/2006 2:19:03 AM UTC by Floorless Fan***

^Oh you mean SFGAdv and not SFGAm. I would have totally agreed with you if you had said SFGAm, but have to disagree when you say SFGAdv. For one thing, it was not mentioned as one of the "safe parks" when he was naming parks.
Pertaining to Floorless Fan's comment on building Tatsu:

The Tatsu project was well under way before Shapiro was in. They had no control over it. The decisions of the old executives won't be effecting Shapiro's decisions at all.

I am glad I am not the only one who thinks so. Either I don't know what I am doing with it or it just really sucks. The google search some sites get would be very helpful.
Yeah... the site search is down.

Just go to Google and put site:coasterbuzz.com in the query
