This was my 2nd trip to SFMM but I hadn't been there since Batman:TR opened. Last time I went with my coaster loving family and this time I went with my wife and her younger sister. Let's just say they took 2 huge doses of Dramamine before we got to the park.
We were staying with a friend in La Habra and I had no idea how the traffic would be so we left at 5:30 a.m. and got to the park around 7:00 a.m. I was utterly amazed at the size of X and how cool it looked in the morning fog. I was surprised to see them working on it all ready and it only needed 2 more pieces of track put on.
Since we got there so early we went and got breakfast at Cocoa's. I think that is how you spell it. Pretty good.
We got back to the gates around 8:30 a.m. and when they finally opened the parking gates we were the first ones in. Once the real gates opened at 10:00 a.m. we ran to Goliath and got on the first train of the day and I took the back seat. Loved the first drop, but I really enjoyed the camel hump. I got some good air-time and that helix was just intense. My wife closed her eyes through the whole ride and luckily she didn't feel very sick. I give it a 9/10.
Next up was Colossus. We were on the left side and that first drop was pleasantly surprising. I felt like I was thrown right out of my seat. The rest of the ride seemed pretty tame. After this ride my wife and sister-in-law started feeling motion-sickness. Not good. I give it a 6/10. I would have given it a 5 but I liked that first drop.
Batman:TR. Love it. The wait is always short and the ride is non-stop and fast paced. Every second on this ride is a blast! My wife actually rode this with me and she enjoyed it while the sister-in-law (SIL) just watched. 10/10
I went of RR next while the girls rode the bumper cars. I waited for the front seat and really enjoyed this ride, but you all might call me crazy but I almost thought this coaster was too smooth. It just doesn't have the same intensity as it's neighbor...Batman. I did love the dive loops and that first loop is great. I also like the titled loop. 8/10
I convinced the girls to ride Gold Rusher and it is a pretty good ride. I liked it's pacing and the helix and the end was a good finish. Plus it didn't make the girls sick. 6/10
We went on Arrowhead splashdown and as we went by the Thrill Shot there were some S&S guys working on their laptops and I yelled "S&S Power Rules!" They turned and just smiled! I think SFMM new motto should be "Build it and they will come." ONce this ride, X, and Deja Vu open that park will be packed to experience the new thrills!
Next up was Ninja. I didn't get to ride this coaster last time because the were reparing it. We waited for the front row and both my wife and I loved this ride. It has a really good layout and great visuals. To my surprise my wife felt great after this ride along with the SIL. 7/10
I wanted to ride Superman next but we saw the line and decided to come back later. We walked back down the hill and I bought my wife her first dosage of Dippin Dots. She loved them. We walked over to Psyclone and they were doing test runs so I went and got in line and got the 3rd train. The girls decided to do some shopping. Psyclone was fun with it's trick track and it was rough, but I enjoyed it. 7/10
It was starting to heat up and I decided to cool off with the river rapids. Big mistake. My wife got soaked and she was mad! She was wearing overalls and they got drenched. She didn't want to ride anything and the SIL was getting really sick so I gave my wife $100 and told her to go shopping and get some dry clothes. This trip was going to cost me a lot more than I thought. But at least the girls left content to go shopping and I could now ride the rest of the coasters in peace.
I headed up to Superman after they left. The wait was about an hour but I felt it was worth it. That initial punch out of the station is awesome! I just kept thinking after the ride how I bad I wanted to go to Japan to ride Dodenpa (spelling?) and try out that 0 to 107 mph in 2 seconds. S&S Power...those guys are brilliant. Back to Superman...I give it 7/10 just for the boost!
Viper! I love Arrow loopers. Viper keeps you flipping like crazy. I actually enjoyed the trims they put before the corkscrews because it felt like I was just hanging in my seat. I'm a sucker for Arrow corkscrews! 9/10
Finally...Revolution. You are all so right! Take off the OTSR's. I didn't experience a ton of headbanging but enough that it made for a not so great ride. If they took those off the ride would be perfect. 5/10
I also rode Spin Out. I love sticking to the wall and seeing the look on everyone's face when the floor drops down.
I rode Batman and Goliath both one more time before leaving. We left around 7:00 p.m. after the girls came back from shopping. I wanted to stay but they were tired and I had ridden all the coasters that I wanted to.
On our way out I found a pleasant surprise. As you all know now, X track was finished! They put a little pine tree and an American flag on the last piece of track installed. I've been watching all of the construction on twistedrails and other websites and I was so excited to be at SFMM the day they finished tracking X! I got some good video of the ride in the morning and in the early evening when it was all done. I hope I got get down there again sometime after they open that sweet work of art!
I had a great time and highly recommend this park to anyone. I also got to practice my Spanish with people in line. That was cool.
Can't wait to go to SFMM in December.

Ohh good, i think your the only person that did not complain about the employees
Ya, I didn't have any complaints about the employees. They were just doing their job, nothing fancy. Load 'em, check 'em, and send 'em out!
