SFMM 2006 season pass question

Does anyone know what time of year 2006 season passes usually go on sale at SFMM?

I am visiting the park in November and was hoping to purchase a season pass for the 2006 season that would also get me into the park in November.

They should be available by November considering the passes are already on sale for other Six Flags parks. (at least Gadv)

When in doubt, use ancient (but effective) technology...

I don't see anything where it says that if you buy a 2006 pass now it would include admission for the rest of THIS season. That goes for all the Six Flags parks that are open through November and year-round. :-) Unlike Cedar Fair passes, they expire on December 31. :-)

I assume they will have some "specials" next Spring around Solace time like they did this past March. I got a killer deal on a SFMM pass at the Rideworld event.

Right now they are advertising $59.99 which isn't too bad. I could get them much cheaper at Wyandot Lake (the closest SF park to me) but it's much easier just to renew online. ;-) I won't renew till at least March, though.

coasterqueen...

I'm pretty sure that the 2006 passes do work for the remainder of the season. That's one of the perks that get people to buy one if they might not otherwise. Don't quote me on it, but I think that's the way they do it.

I should have said I was from the UK, international calls cost a fortune.

Also, I have tried to renew online in previous years, but never can since I dont have a US postal address, and can't enter a zip code, the UK postal code is different. *** Edited 10/14/2005 12:25:25 PM UTC by Grant***

They were selling SFKK 2006 passes when we were down there for the CB event at HW.

They said that they'd be good for the rest of the season at all SF parks and just said to make sure to keep your receipt with you for proof that you bought it during FF.

GAdv. usually starts selling in Oct. for Fright Fest and SFoT starts for Holiday in the park in late Nov. I think it depends on the length of the season. GAdv. was offerring an additional "bring-a-friend-free" coupon for folks who bought a pass at the end of '04.

GAdv's '05 passes were good during the end of '04 which actually meant you could have 2 active season passes at the same time and someone who looked like you could use one (or you can bring a friend for free by giving them your voucher for entrance to the park and then taking the photo ID yourself).

Grant - since I live in LA I called the phone number posted above. The woman I spoke to told me that the park will not be selling 2006 season passes "until mid-November." She was unable to give me an exact date nor tell me if they would also be valid thru the end of this year.

Typical SF customer service, eh? ;)

....and THAT is why Moosh is getting his SF pass at SFoG next year.... ;)
Thanks Moosh, that was very good of you. Looks like I'll only be going the once then, hopefully it won't be too busy.

No, that's not how it works, well at least at Magic Mountain, and that's what this topic pertains to...

The season passes that go on sale late November - December-ish can't be used for admission until January 1st of that season the pass was processed for. So no, you can't use you 2006 pass to enter the park in November/December 2005.

Krax...

That is not what SFKK said and, in fact, they said if any other park was to hassle you about getting in with their '06 pass to have them give SFKK a call because it was "their (SFKK's) fault" because they are not selling any more '05 passes. *** Edited 10/14/2005 7:45:11 PM UTC by redman822***

I guess the other parks don''t do what AW used to do in October.. If you bought a ticket you could upgrade that ticket into a seasons pass for 20.00 more anytime throughout the day. It was good for the rest of the current season as well as the next.
kRaXLeRidAh, check your facts about last year.

Last year, SFMM began selling the 2005 Play Passes in mid to late November, and they were good from the time of purchase through all of 2005. I bought mine on Dec. 12th last year, used it that day, and it doesn't expire until 2006.

I would guess that this year will be similar.

/\ Uhh. The Six Flags Play Plass was introduced only recently, as a means of selling off any remaining "season passes" two to three months before the season ends. It's not a real season pass so-to-speak. The Play Plass is sold cheap near the end of the year, and expires when January 1st rolls around. The author of this thread is talking about whether or not he can purchase a 2006 season pass and use it at the park in November/December 2005 when it's in weekend operation.
And I still think the answer is "yes".

Every other Six Flags park does it, so why would SFMM be any different? Granted they are open year round, but still. I think that when they finally do start selling 2006 passes they will be good from the minute you purchase them.

SFGAm is selling 2006 season passes now-both new and renewals. They are good for the rest of 2005 as well. Granted there are just a few weekends for Fright Fest but I just wanted to pass on that they were selling them already.

"Heavily medicated for your safety!"

I have already purchased and recieved my '06 passes for SFoG, and I don't recall ever seeing anywhere on the form that it was good for the remainder of the '05 season. I do have plans on asking if the '05 pass is still good since the '06 pass has already been processed, and I'll post the info when I find out.

Heres an intresting note just looked at my '05 MM season pass and it doesn't expire til 01/05/06 iteresting. As for an 06 working for 05 it never has before and I've had a pass every year for 11 years so nothing makes me believe it wiil. There may be something new though.
