My friend last night informed me they had discount tickets to SFKK for 15$...I knew they had Chang and ThunderRun...so for $15, why not.
So we took our drive from Cincinnati to Louisville...not too long of a drive at all, and finnally arrived at the park at 10:30. However when we walked in the park...we found the waterpark and coaster section didn't open to 11..so we rode the Hellevator(short as hell compared to Drop Zone) and the Witch's Wheel( I think thats what it is called).Finnally the coaster side opened!
It was a Tuesday and I have never seen a park so abandoned. Everyone who was there went to the water park! Fine with me..leave the coasters to us. Well...I'll rate them on a scale of 1-5!
Chang(5 laps)-****1/2
By far the best standup I have ever ridden...long and intense...yes better than Mantis! Although they had one(1), yes one, train operation( first I have seen on a B&M)there was still little or no wait. Absolutely the redeeming part of this small little park.
T2-(4 laps)****
I don't understand why everyone hates these things so much. Yes I know it is Vekoma...but what is wrong with a five inversion Invert?? What about headbanging, nah not here, the pads are the softest I have ever felt on a coaster! I have also found that it is somewhat exciting to have a few bumps on a steel...they don't have to be ice smooth. I enjoyed this. No wait. Overall fun. ( why did they paint it black?)
Twisted Sisters(2 laps both sides)***
CCI made a satisfactory coaster here...isn't anything compared to what I have heard about Raven and Legend...but ok. The flybys are pretty wicked. The steel supports look weird. Other than that...nothing redeeming here.
Thunder Run(3 laps)***1/2
A classic woody..airtime filled...mad laterals. The ride only ran one train...no wait still however..but the operators were terrible...you could tell they didn't care. Other than that, it is a great ride!
Roadrunner Express(1 lap)**
A cool little mad mouse. Not much to say here but it is a blast to slam into your friend as you make the sharp turns. It can be fun if you make it.
Hellevator(1 drop)*
Terrible drop ride. The ferris wheel is taller!!! I guess I am spoiled with Drop Zone. Oh well...small wait.
Although there were bad points...One train operation, slow employess, heartless employees, poorly setup park, lack of coasters...etc.( I here this is the norm with alot of Six Flags parks). Oh well, I guess I am spoiled with PKI.
Overall, my first expeirince with Six Flags was pleasurable. Food here is dirt cheap. You can get damn good coupons for admittance. Chang is great. What's wrong with T2? Fun to slam your friend on Roadrunner Express! No waits, and I got in for $15.
Im....happy:)
Thought I would stand-up for a small, struggling park.
See you on Tomb Raider!!

I think it was a great TR. SFKK does have a couple of redeeming qualities indeed. I really like the fact that the waterpark is in the center of the park and not shoved off in some corner. Chang, T2, Thunder Run, and the Sisters are all pretty good coasters in my book. I think Chang would be better suited as a floorless coaster though. T2 is a heck of a lot smoother than it's clone Serial Thriller at SFWOA. With some attention to employee relations, and a couple of good coasters, this park could become even better. I'd LOVE to see a clone of S:UE, X Flight, or Mr Freeze here. I'm patiently awaiting some big news from SF about this park.

God please let SFKK get something this year. ANYTHING!!
Finally someone who doesnt hate this park!!! YES!!! It realy isnt as bad as most people say. TRUST ME!

IS THERE A BETTER PARK THAN HOLIDAY WORLD??
I THINK NOT!!!!!
-------ADAM (KY COASTER FREAK)
I am glad someone tells it like it is around here. I am happy that you did not dwell on the slightly sub-par things like a lot of other Buzzers tend to do. I must admit, I did not like Mantis all that much, and I would LOVE to give Chang a spin and make the comparison for myself, maybe next summer.

"X" marks the spot in 2001!
Hey! I agree, What's not to like about a park with a nice Beemer, CCI dueling coaster, a nice classic woody, and a smoother than normal Vekoma Invert? The only down side seems to be the heartless employees. I definatley think it's worth a visit.

Ozzfest 2001: The greatest show on earth!

Yeah. I think it's a decent park too. Not great, but decent. However, they haven't added anything new since I was last there, so I decided to hit up Holiday World, Kings Island, and Cedar Point over the last 3 days. :) Look for my full Trip Report soon !
Why did "they" have to change the colors of Chang to the ones of Medusa. The yellow was fine because it was a coaster with colors that no other coaster had. I didn't like it when they changed the colors of Chang.
(Although I havn't been on Chang, just my personal though.)

"Pootie Tang!"
EWWW...the old colors of Chang were ...wrong! A coaster should neveer be a solid color!

Some coasters need to be solid colors. B:TR is solid black and I couldn't imagine it any other color really. Mr Freeze is solid blue too. I think it just depends on the coaster, surroundings, theming, ect whether or not it should be one solid color.
