SFKK when will they get something new.

Hasn't it been a few years since SFKK received a new major attraction? I believe they installed a Rapids ride in 1999, but nothing since then. Are SFKK and SFEG the black ducklings of the Six Flags chain?

What's everyone's opinion?

They put in Roadrunner Express (a very good mouse) this year, and removed the Vampire and took it to SFNE, but I don't know what they are up to. The was a -RUMOR- that Batman Knight Flight was not originally built for SFO and was going to SFKK.
I think that it is weird that they only hae 4 or 5 coasters.

They have 7 (seven)
1,2 Twisted Sisters: Lola & Stella
3 Roadrunner
4 T2
5 Chang
6 Thunder Run
7 Roller Skater

It is indeed time that they get a large ride of some kind. An ARROW looper or Vekoma launched. ....Something.... Something BIG

Have any of you Louisville locals seen any construction going on yet?
Arrow is nothing, Vekoma is much better than Arrow. Vekoma can deliver smooth coasters if the themeparks want one, the trains will be changed in that case.
I'm not even going to touch Rogier's post, but I wonder what SFKK is doing with their inverted Vekoma coaster t2? Are they going to make it batman the ride or keep it as is?

I wouldn't be suprised to see a launched coaster along the lines of Mr. Freeze in 2002.

You build it, I'll ride it...eventually

I have no clue Randy, there have been rumors of it leaving, but there is no proof, and I really don't want to get into it. It would be nice If Thunder Run got a new transfer track installed and a 2nd train. It did have one when it opened *** This post was edited by john peck on 1/7/2001. ***
For what it's worth, I read somewhere that 2002 would have the biggest project in the parks history. Maybe a hyper, or a Deja Vu-ish sized invertigo?

I'm in Louisville, John. And no, there hasn't been any visable construction.

None, eh? I have no clue, but is there anyone out there who know of SFKK's height restriction? The tallest ride..I think... is Chang at 154', so that will determine that they can go up to there at least. Since I also "heard" about Batman Knight Flight originally going to KK, so then I can assume that they can go over 161' as well. It would be nice to see them get a Roar styled coaster or a mine train for the family, and a large steel ride for the mega thrillseekers. There is really no reason why they need to take out T2 since it always seems to have a long line.
What happened to Thunder Run's second train?
Jacob, if they were to get the "largest investment in SFKK history" in 2002, it couldn't be a Deja Vu invertigo because Chang cost over $12M and these new invertigos "could not" cost that much (going on the fact that why would ANYONE pay $12M for that! It's a clone, so I can't see that costing over $7M max).

John Peck, SFKK's tallest ride isn't Chang, but rather Heckavator (;)). It stands 170 some odd feet tall.

Oh, and the reason the line is always long on T2 is because you can't really move people through with one train operating totalling what, 14 persons per cycle? That's pretty craptacular.

Lastly, Mongoose, Thunder Run never had a second train. Hopefully SF will add a transfer track SOMEHOW so the ride can operate two trains. The same for Twisted Sisters would be nice, too.

Wait a minute, I think the issue isn't when is SFKK gonna get something new, but when is SFKK gonna get something exciting. I mean in the late 1990's it seemed like they were adding spectacular rides at an incredible pace, but they are still adding rides:

2000- Wild Mouse
1999- Rapids Ride
1998- Twisted Sisters
1997- Chang
1996- Hellavator
1995- Terror to the Second Power )T^2)
1994- Mile High Falls

I've heard a Skycoaster for 2001 (WooHoo), to go where Vampire once stood, and don't be alarmed about the apparent lack on construction, I mean this is SFKK we are talking about. On opening day of 2000, all that existed of the new Wild Mouse was a concrete pad to set it on.

That said, they haven't aded anything lately that screams "Come to SFKK"

Racers only count as one coaster, not two.

Twisted Sisters (Lola & Stella) are two entirely different tracks and layouts, and they don't "race", but dual.

Ah, I somehow thought Hellavator was 150', and I swear Thunder Run had an additional red train at one time... Rideman? Can you confirm that?

I am guessing that KK can most likely go up to 190' at least
I'm not RideMan, but I believe I can help with this one: ;)

Thunder run DID in fact have a red train, but not concurrently with the yellow train. The red train was one of PTC's failures known as trailered trains, and the yellow train was a 1996 replacement for it that is fully articulated.

I can't begin to describe what an improvement that one rolling stock change made to that ride. It took an unre-rideable mess, and turned it onto a marathon quality airtime machine.

BTW: I count Twisted Sisters, and any other dual track coaster as two counts. The key word is *track* record. But thats a topic that I really don't want to polute these nice civil forums with.
