SFKK getting V2??

Word on the street is that SKKK could be getting the next intamin impulse??  Godd idea, bad idea, are the ride ops ready??

Good idea -- KK can use a new coaster.  "Ride ops ready" -- well, they'll receive the necessary training.  The ops at the former Geauga Lake had certainly never operated a floorless or Impulse before the 2000 season began...

This type of coaster at any park is a good addition. It takes up minimal space which alot of parks have problems with(space) and its a quick intense ride that the majority will favor.

I dont think that SFKK is ready for the lines, I mean people would be waiting in line forever.

Seeing as though they only run one train on any other coasters, it wouldn't really be any different from the rest. (Except for the fact that most of the rest of them actually could run multiple trains, but that's another story.

This is no different than the lines for X-Flight at SFWoA, or Batwing at SFA, or Millennium Force at CP.  SFKK sees lines for Chang, an Impulse really wouldn't be that different.
New coasters bring in people, and that's good for the park.  SFKK is long overdue for a coaster, and an Impulse is a good choice.  Compact and attention-getting, perfect for a place like that.

Personally, I hope that the rumors about SFKK getting an Intamin impulse coaster are only half-right, as I can think of a related sort of coaster that I would rather see there.
Does SFKK have room for an Impulse? The existing ones are all 180' tall, and I'm not sure that SFKK can go that high. But they could go up 142' with no trouble at all.....

I still think SFKK will get SFoG's Viper...and should be gratetful if they do.  Schwarzkopf's high G forces are excellent!  But that coaster's only listed at 138'...

Put the Viper(Tidal Wave) into SFKK and it just gets closer to its home(SFGAm). If they put this coaster there I will definitely make a trip to SFKK next year.

It all depends on how they brake Viper, will they run it full, or brake it hard.

I agree with RideMan, such an addition would be a Blast.

ChiTown- thats what I was thinking. Though I wouldn't be mad if the screamscape rumor was true and it was coming to SFA :)

I hope they put in Tidal Wave as well!  Looks like Vertical Velocity is going to turn into the next boomerang and end up at half of the amusement parks out there.

Well then, I for one would have ZERO problems with that.  Boomerangs look and ride like second rate attractions.  I have heard nothing but EXCEPTIONAL marks for S:UE and V2.

I rode "X" and never went upside down.

I agree.  My complaint about the boomerang isn't that everyone and their brother has one, it's that it's a BAD ride that everyone and their brother has.  Boomerangs are better than nothing, but if Impulses became the next "boomerang" (ie a compact coaster that many parks can squeeze in, so there ends up being lots of them all over the place), that's a GOOD thing.

I'm definately in the minority but I actually prefer boomerangs and invertigos to impulse coasters.  None of those rides are on the top of my list but given space limitations I guess the parks have few options - invertigo, boomerang, impulse, delayjavu - and the impulse coasters are reasonably priced and go over well with the general public.

the height limit on the side of the park where the ride is going is 300ft.

There was a post somewhere around here that said something about the rumored SFKK impulse but it said it would have 2 twisted spikes
