SFKK and the Kentucky State Fair

I'm planning a trip to Kings Island and Kentucky Kingdom in August, with friends. But we just found out that we'll be at SFKK during the State Fair. Is it terribly crowded. Can we still go and have fun? Should we plan to go elsewhere? Where else? Thanks!!
