SFGrAm Fright Fest 10-19-03

Associated parks:
None

Got to the park around 9:30am - waited under the bridge off Hometown Square till 10:00am when they dropped the chain and I ran to Deja Vu (which I had seen them testing when I drove in)

I got out on the first train of the day, very last seat, right hand side. Waited approx 20 minutes (for them to finish testing and open it up) Great ride, but I would never wait more than a 1/2 hour for it.

Next went to Raging Bull (my favorite coaster in the park). Walked on - again very last seat, left hand side. Love how it pulls you down the drop :)

Walked on Giant Drop (aka Hellavator during Fright Fest) Got a great view of the King Kong on top of Sky Tower.

Saw American Eagle Red running so went there - again was a walk on - last seat.

Besides the Scooby Doo Ghost Train - which is cute and a lot of fun - those were the only rides I went on. It was now noon and the crowds definetely started showing up.

This was my first Fright Fest and I must say I was impressed with how the park was decorated. Very good theming and Im sure it looks even better at night ( I left the park around 1:30pm)

I did do the Mausoleum of Terror in Necropolis and I thought it was very well done. Very dark and the effects and scariness was great. Again, Im sure at night the whole park is even scarier.

Had a great time and the weather was absoulutely beautiful.

Yeah, Sunday was pretty freakin crowded. Good news is the 2 for 1 coupons from Taco Bell expired this past weekend so the last 2 remaining weekends should'nt be overly crowded.

Hopefully will get some power riding in before the 6 month hibernation.

Arena football has arrived in the Windy City. Go "Chicago Rush"

I went to the park on fiday and thought it wasnt busy at all. And would agree that the decorations look much better at night than during the daytime.
But it was sad to see parts of Sky Whirl being used as props on the train ride!!!
