SFGAM Trip Tips

I'm going to SFGAM on Thursday, can anyone give me some tips on how to plan the day based on lines for roller coasters? We're planning on getting a fastpass, probably to use on V2. Thank you in advance.

Welcome back riders, how was your ride...Enjoy your day, here at Cedar Point, America's roller coast.
Why do you have two of almost the same??
Get to the park once it opens and then head right for V2. "Running of the bulls" will happen when "they" open the back area of the park. After riding V2, buy a fastlane pass.

Are you sure that after I ride V2 the fastlane passes won't be sold out?

The fastpasses never sell out. I havn't seen them sell out yet. Of course, I don't go on weekends.
Oh, ok since I'm going on thursday, they shouldn't sell out then? Can somebody please give me some tips on lines of other coasters and how they fluctuate during the day? Thank you.
I havent been but that will change soon:) I think after V2 or even before, I would ride Batman. The line for that seems to be real big and scence its right by V2 it should have a minimal wait!{ride in front!)

5. Goliath
Bull: 20-30 minutes
Viper: 15-30 minutes
Batman: 20-30 minutes
American Eagle: Depends on # of sides running-- If one, between 10 and 60 minutes, if 2, no more than 5 minutes.
V2: 20-60 minutes
Iron Wolf: Between 10 and 20 minutes
Demon and Whizzer are afterthoughts.

Demon can be an afterthought, but if you do ride it, ride back seat. It has ejector-airtime on the first drop. The wait will probably be no more than 15 minutes if 2 trains are running, 5 if 3 are running.

Whizzer is NOT an afterthought. Go on it, no matter how long the line is. When I went on it last, it was a Tuesday, and wait was about 10 minutes. It's more than worth a 60 minute wait, IMO.

Do your own homework!
I think "they" dont't start selling the fastlane pass until after 10:30 am. So you'll have time to ride Vertical Velocity.

I actually don't agree with going strait to V2. If you got to the park at 9:30, you could start off with 2 raging Bull rides, a viper ride, an american eagle ride, demon, and Iron Wolf all within 2 hours. Then get the fastpass to ride V2 as many times as you like and Whizzer if you want to. You can also use fastpass for Iron Wolf. Batman's line will be long early on, but it usually becomes less then 10 minutes when the sun sets, sometimes even a walkon. Shockwave will be a whenever it's a walk-on. One thing though, make sure you ride Raging Bull later in the day because it always seems alot slower in the morning. The line for Bull shouldn't be more than 20 minutes past 6pm. That's all I can tell ya but I've been to the park 12 times this year so I should know what I'm doing.
When do gates/rides open at the park?

Gates open at about 9:30 and rides open at 10:00
I went to SFGAm on Monday the 30th and the fast lane passes had sold out by 1:00, so don't count on being able to get them later in the day. If you're not going to get a fast lane pass right away, go to Vertical Velocity first, my friends and I waited over an hour when we got in line at 10:30
SFGAm sells between 1000 and 2000 fastlane passes per day. I've gotten two different numbers from their GR department...
The Statement that fastpasses don't sell out is BS I went to Six Flags on a non holiday Tuesday and the fast passes were gone within the first two hours.

I went to SF Great America Sunday. What you do is this. Go to V2 first (Running of the bulls), followed by Batman, Iron Wolf (wear a cup), American Eagle, go get a fast pass (I bought the last two sunday) hit up viper, and shockwave, then use your fast pass on Demon, Whizzer, Raging Bull and Deja Vu, oh wait its not open (damn them!). Viper, American Eagle, Batman, and Shockwave does not use the Fastlane system yet. So use your judgement on what to ride first.
Its too bad Batman doesn't but I think the reason for it is that they can't angle a line in there for it.
