SFGAM Superman Closed for HOURS!!!!

I was at SFGAM today, and good thing i rode superman 1st. At about 1:00pm, the ride closed for the rest of the night with a "mechanical problem" acording to one of the mechanics going to work on the ride. It rained a little proior to it shutting down, but all other rides never shot down. Boy am i glad i rode it 1st thing. That pretzel loop is intense.
Rides break down all the time, especially new rides. No big deal.

Is that a Q-bot in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

Hahaha...GP's messages are always filled with a bit of sarcasm. They are quite funny.

Your sequence of events is a little off. My friend and I got there at 3 and it was just reopening from the rain. We got in line and that's when it broke down for the day. They finally kicked everyone out of line at 4:45. That's the first time I've ever seen that happen on a B&M.

i seem to remember reading on here somewhere that "to know Superman is to know breakdowns"...

wonder if its true for all of the S:UFs? if so, get used to it, much like us Po!nters have had to get used to Dragster's constant downtime....

Actually, in 8 visits to SFoG last year, S:UF was running at least 2 trains reliably on every visit. So I'd say that the ride is no more prone to breakdown than any other B&M out there.

Then again the S:UF at SFoG has been open for a year... :)

Actually Superman: UF at SFGAm is very reliable, I have not seen it break down yet this year while at the park. Except for Mothers Day which it was closed all day...but then again everything was closed all day except for Batman basically.

All I have to say is whoopty doo!(Austin Powers) New rides break down all the time.

Top 5 Coasters at SFGAm 1)S:UF 2)RB 3) DV 4)V2 5)Viper
Total number of coasters ridden=43

I've been to SFGAm twice this year and Superman has ran perfect both days.

Riding the Bull anywhere but the back is merely going for a walk.
About 3 visits for me as well, no major downtime

Air at Alton Towers is still fairly unreliable. I don't think I have been to the park and it doesn't break down. I think most of the problems now are fairly minor, but I'm surprised they haven't yet been ironed out.
Ummm... Ok, I'm confused. You say you were at the park today (which I'm assuming is Saturday)... Well, we were at Coastermania, and on our way back through Gurnee, we stopped at the park (6:30). From 6:30 - Closing, Superman was running flawlessly. I know it was, I rode it. So, it obviously wasn't closed all night.

Or am I missing something here?
