SFGAm Question

I am going to SFGAm in a few weeks, and I'm wondering what the crowds are like around this time of year, because I heard it gets really busy around Halloween.

"To get from one place to another you have to move." Just a beautiful insight from my social studies teacher, and we wonder what has happened to our school system today.

Fright Fest is a really popular event, so expect long waits. Especially if you go on a Saturday.

We don't usually keep topics like this open about crowds but I thought since you pointed out you will be going in a few weeks, that you check the schedule.

The park won't be open the first weekend of October. The first operating day of Fright Fest is October 11th.

I have never had problems with crowds at Fright Fest. everyone I know never goes because they've heard everyone else say, "oh, its so crowded," but I've never experienced it first hand. it probably has a lot to do with the weather. if its a nice day, you'll get more people than if its a crappy day. prepare for at least moderate crowds and don't be surprised if you get the masses.

I have found the ebst time to go to fright fest is on Fridays, escpeically if you get to the park before it opens at 500pm as people arrive late due to work.
And i think it is much better with the park being open till 1100 pm, i think the decorations/theming work much better at night than during the day. Its just to bad the park isnt open till 100am like USF hhh nights!!
Bob. I believe a couple of things keep the park from ever being open that late.

1. From what I have heard and read, the village of Gurnee won't allow the park to operate that late due to resident complaints of noise and traffic.

2. Being that alot of the staff are under 18, parents probably wouldn't like the idea of their kids getting home in the middle of the night.

Gimme speed, height, airtime and plenty of LAUNCH!!!

Chitown if the town wont allow it then that is a perfectly understanable reason the park isnt open later, but regarding the teens working that is something that can be worked around and from working midnight to 8 am i see numerous teenagers working in Rest. etc till 20oam-300 am so for a couple of weekends that problem could be handled if they wanted to. Apparnely HHN is able to work around this and im sure not every employee at the park is an adult.
Coasterqueen, it should not be very crowded because it is off season and there are no shows going on right now.

Yeah, the weekends between when school starts and fright fest are Dead. No pun intended. I'm going on Saturday too. I can't wait!

SFGAm was dead today (9/14), the longest wait being 45 minutes for Deja Vu (yes, Deja Vu!). S:UF had less than a 20-minute line all day.

As for Deja Vu (since it inevitably comes up in every "I'm planning a trip to SFGAm" thread) it ran flawlessly and the crew was *much* quicker than in previous years (averaging about 3.5 minutes between dispatches).

Now is most definitely the time to visit the park, before it gets Fright Fest busy!
