SFGam or Kennywood

I think we're trying to choose between apples,or oranges here. Both are good, but different. Both should be judged on their own merit. Kennywood does have the advantage of history. It's not a thrill park, just an old fashion park that has something for everyone.
What about costs and stuff? Does SFGAm have a two day pass like CP? Is it worth all the expense to go to SFGAm for just one day? Stuff like that.

It's his turn to feast, when you ride the Son of Beast.

They have a thing called "Twicket" I see advertised within the park, but I've never seen it anywhere else. I'm not sure how it works because I carry a season pass, but maybe one of these SFGAm regulars can shed some light on it.

Without the chaindog, you'd never get up the lifthill...

The Twicket is $5 additional, and lets you come back the next day. They also have a 2 day pass where you can go any two days, but it's more expensive than the Twicket.

Don't decide, go to both parks !

Never been to SFGam but I still have to say that KW would be a better choice. SF parks are mostly the same but KW is truly a great experience and has some great coasters to boot.
Don't say "all Six Flags parks are mostly the same" if you've never been to SFGAm. It is definitely *not* the same as the others. Heck, looking at your track record, it seems you haven't been to one of the original Six Flags parks (those that existed under Time Warner). It's been my experience that these are light years ahead of the newly acquired properties (SFWoA, SFKK, SFDL, etc).

SFGAM is DEFINITELY not the same. It is as good as or better then Cedar Point even IMHO.

Does CCI know how to make a bad coaster?

I would be interested in knowing a few things about what would come-into play to the possible trips.

How far of a drive to both parks? What time of the year would you be going? Weekday or weekend? What kind of overall budget are you looking at? Would it include an over-night stay in the respective city and/or doing anything else in the area? Any possibility of visiting other park(s) in the surrounding area if the planning would be possible to do so? Going by yourself or with others?

If I hear (read) the "apples and oranges" cliche one more time I'm literally going to scream...you what? I think I'll scream anyway.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, that felt better :)

Anyway, there is no way that you could convince me to choose KennyWood over SFGAm, especially if it was an even amount of time since I'd visited them. Kennywood is a nice park, I'm sure, but only Phantom's Revenge and the Kangaroo are rides I'm in a tizzy to ride again (note: T-bolt was closed my only visit). The Potato Patch food was excellent for park food (emphasis added). But the MooseBurger Lodge burgers @ SFGAm were the best non-homemade burgers I've had...ever!

And while I adore Phantom's Revenge, it cannot overcome the call of Raging Bull, Viper, Iron Wolf AND Batman. Just too much competition. But if you're a cheap bastard with no SF pass, then perhaps KW *is* for you :)

SFGA no contest..........

---- IGGY .

I agree 100% with 2Hostyl. There's no comparison in the coasters between KW and SFGAm. I don't do the flat rides and food is never a deciding factor for me. And while atmosphere is nice (KW obviously has it here), I go for the coasters; so, that's what I base my decisions on and KW can't compete with SFGAm.
