SFGAm opens on May 4th for 2002 season.

Its not up on their website yet(yeah, big suprise) but I drove down the tollway past the park and the big sign with the digital display stated that the park would open for the 2002 season on Saturday, May 4th. I called their information line and it also states the same thing. Here is the number if you would like to verify it. (847)249-1776.

Just thought I would pass this information incase people werent aware it or if people were planning on visiting the park from out of state and needed to make vacation arrangements, etc.

"The Peoples Elbow" or "The Spinaroonie?. Cant decide which is the most electrifying move in sports entertainment!!! LOL

Thanks, I was just about to make a topic asking if anyone has heard of a date yet.  I was kinda hoping they would open a little earlier this year with all this nice weather we have had this winter.

Chitown,

Did you read that they are planning to take down the happy barrier wall between Hometown and County Fair?  Check it out at www.rideop.com, that's where I read it at (and no, it isn't my site, it's just my domain name, the site belongs to my friend.)  I'll verify it for you all when I go into the park for rehiring.

"If two coaster trains almost hit each other, why is it called a near miss and not a near hit?"

When do the employees get back to the park? And one more question, when do parks in general get ready for the season? By this I mean get coaster trains back on track etc.

yes there is a god, Them moving that barrier was my main wish for 2002.  If it does indeed happen I will be so happy.  I hated walking through Southwest Territory to get around the park. Too much walking.

So far... 2 parks opening on my birthday... none of them here I live, but whatever I'll deal with it... :(
Thank you for stating that they will be opening on May 4th, Six Flags Great America Unofficial had that posted on www.rideop.com long before that sign said anything. Now that I have been watching things I am relizing that www.rideop.com has been posting things first like the cajun cliff- hanger officially being gone havent seen any other site post that it is officially gone yet, or as PTboy11 has posted the thing with the wall they just posted it and its the first place I read it. Sounds like they have some great sources getting them information and is deffinatly a site to watch!
Employee rehire thingy is this Friday.  Orientation and basic department training starts in February and things really start kicking off (like dry-runs, clean up crew) in early March.
