SFGAm: Only park with 2 Arrow loopers?

Wednesday, April 24, 2002 7:40 PM

This just had me thinking. Is SFGAm the only park with 2 full circuit Arrow loopers?

My enquiring mind wants to know. :)

Viper is the only "Arrow Looper" at SFMM. I can't think of any others...there may be an international park, though.

My two favorite coasters are named Superman.

Where are there two arrow loopers at MM? There is just Viper, Revolution is a Swartzkof.

The only other one that comes close to SFGAM is BGW but now that Drachen Fire is no more, we don't have that one.

Antuan is right.......Chitown said "full circuit Arrow loopers". Last time I checked, both Viper and X were loopers, and full circuit!

Doing a search on RCDB under Arrow, and sorting by park, revealed SFGAm to be the only one, though there were more years ago. Don't forget Old Indiana, with Black Widow and Wabash Cannonball! LOL.

X is not a Arrow looper it is a Arrow 4D.

I think you would agree that is not what Chitown was talking about. When someone says Arrow Looper it stands to reason they mean a Megalooper. X is in a class of its own, and it reallyt doesn't "loop". Although it could be argued that neither did Drachen Fire, but you see where I am going.

Like a said, X is no more an Arrow Looper then S:UF is a B and M Invert.

In order for it to be an Arrow looper, it has to give you a Toomer. ;)
Oh, and it has to be designed by the bending of a coat hanger rather than a CAD program.

I think Chitown wasn't looking for looping Arrow coasters, but Arrow loopers. As Antuan said, X is a looping Arrow, but it is not an Arrow looper, those have standard between-the-2-rails 2-across OTSR trains. Last time I looked, X has 4 rails, 2 2-across seatings, and rode outside the rails.

I myself would like SFGAm to trade in Shockwave for something like Mind Bender (WEM, not SFoG.) That way we would have a good Arrow looper, and a really powerful Schwarzkopf looper. The way I see it, who cares if it has 7, 8, 9, or even 10 inversions! It's the power of the inversion that counts!

Sorry for the confusion guys. I meant the standard Arrow looper. "X" would not be a part of this equasion.

Geauga Lake had two Arrow Loopers at one time. The Double Loop and the Corkscrew. They took the Corkscrew out in favor of a Boomerang. Whoop-di-do!

Myabe Sixflags Great Adventure back in the late 80's when they had lighting loops which where two launched looping coaster that met each other at the interlocking loops. They where not mega loopers ,but loopers.

If you count Drachen Fire, then BGW had two when it was running, I believe.

WoodenCyclone - IIRC, only 1/2 of the Lightning Loops was Arrow, the other half was a Schwarzkopf shuttle.

I am going loopy over this whole thing! AUGH! To loop is to execute an inversion in some manner (except for a horizontal). Am I right? But it's obvious now that the standard sitdowns were the topic.....don't ya hate how specific coaster descriptions have to be? :)

Mamoosh.......good one about Anton contributing to half of LL! That would be neat though....timing them would be a bit of a challenge!
