SFGAm may soon be the only park left in the Chicago area.

I would really hate to see Santa's village go especially in this tiime of $3.00 a gallon gas. People need local parks that are family oriented and affordable. Fortunately, there is a chance that the park's opening is just being delayed until some financial matters are worked out.

Conneaut Lake made an announcement a couple of weeks ago that they were laying people off but several days later, everything fell into place and the park is going to open on schedule. Hopefully a similar situation exists here and the park will opem in about a month or so.

One person that should know more about Santa's Village is Phillip Wenz (Mr. Santa) who is a professional Santa who has appeared in the State Street Parade and has been a Santa at the park for several seasons.

If Santa's Village goes, many Chicago families with children will just have to plan to go to southern Indiana during their vacations to visit HW. The good thing about this is that you can make good use of your gas because there are other worthwhile attractions in this area and HW has a lot to offer to families including its top-notch waterpark. Families could also spend half a day at IB on the way there if they are looking for another alternative to the Flags..

Playland (owned by R. Rocco of Bisch-Rocco)

I have lived in Chicago 30 + years before moving to Tinley and when I talk about Playland nobody ever seems to know what I am talkin' about until now!
