SFGAm July 7th 2002 - 10th trip this year
Thanks to Coasta Playa for this great easy to use format.
ARRIVED: 1:00 p.m.
LEFT: 11:00 p.m.
PARK APPEARANCE/ATMOSPHERE: Great as always
RIDE QUEUE TIMES: Very short lines, mostly 5 min. lines with the exception of Deja Vu and V2.
BEST EXPERIENCE: Deja Vu reride for the last two rides of the night bringing my total rides to 17 for this year and 18 lifetime.
WORST EXPERIENCE: Fell in a thorn bush by Splash Waterfalls trying to get a good picture of Deja Vu.
MOST PLEASANT SURPRISE: Eagle was having awesome races and the brakes were hardly touching. The red train would catch up to you right at the bottom of the helix and then the blue train would go right over you. Very Awesome.
Also another pleasant surprise happened right when I got there, people were actully following the stay to the left for front row rule on Raging Bull which allowed me to walk right up to the station.
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Didn't get to ride Iron Wolf, Whizzer and Spacleys and I spent way to much money on Food. It now cost $6 for Dippin Dots! Thats insane.
COASTER RANKINGS
WITHOUT FLAW:
Raging Bull: 5 great rides on it in the back seat with very short lines!
Deja Vu: It was closed when we got there but it was testing, the worker told us it would be awhile. I saw it miss the lift to stop the train when I was going up Raging Bulls lift and watched it catch the brakes. They had it back up testing within a half hour and it opened probally an hour after that and ran fine the rest of the day.
Eagle (both blue and red side): As I mentioned before the best races I have ever had on it and combined with low trims it was providing an awesome ride.
REALLY QUITE GOOD:
ShockWave: I came the closer to blacking out today more than I usually do. Very fast ride with extreme G's as usual through the second and third loops.
Demon: Back seat in this year provides the type of air you get on Raging Bull.
V2: Provided the same ride it always does. Didn't break down once while I was in line which sort of surprised me.
Viper: Got 2 good rides on this. One in row 1:2 and the other in the back seat.
MAJOR NON-COASTER ACTIVITIES: East River Crawler my favorite flat ride. Rode it about 3 times.
BEST NON-COASTER RIDE: East River Crawler
OTHER COMMENTS: It seems as if the Deja Vu ride ops new goal is to make you leave the line towards the end of the night. During every run the ride op came on the Microphone and said "Deja Vu is expercing Technical Difficuties" and did the usual if you would like to leave the line speach. Well it was quite obvious that Deja Vu was not having any difficulites because it ran great to the end of the night.
Also as I was leaving the park there was some kind of Police sting going on in the parking lot. Employees directed us away from it but my car was over there so I had to go by it. It looked like 5 or 6 guys handcuffed sitting on the ground with cops all around them. There was even a ambulance, does anybody know what was going on. Is this new punishment for Line Jumpers?
