SFGAm Hotels

Can anyone recommend hotels near SFGAm? I'll be going in late June. I will also be doing some touring in Chicago while I'm there.
go to www.sixflags.com then choose a park. Pick Chicago then Six Flags Great AMerica. They have a whole list of hotels that are near the park. Are you looking for hotels in the city as well ?
I'd recommend the Hampton Inn right across the street.

Without the chaindog, you'd never get up the lifthill...

I recommend the Hampton as well as the Baymont Inn. At the Baymont you are right next door to an IHOP and within walking distance of a Cracker Barrel or Outback Steakhouse.

X Factor

Yeah, the Hampton and Baymont are clean chains but I definately think you would be happy at the Grand Inn which is right in front of the Hampton and quite a bit cheaper than both the Hampton and the Baymont.

My mom dragged us into there on our way back from IB and I wanted to stay at the Hampton and the Grand didn't look like ANYTHING special on the outside believe me! But I'm telling you, it has a descent pool, the largest television I've ever seen in a hotel, AND air hockey in every room, I'm not even kidding you! And it's cheaper than both the Baymont and the Hampton, we checked both of those first. So do yourself a favor and stay at the Grand hotel, and if you don't have a season pass or are bringing somebody without a season pass, they have good deals on tickets if you buy them at the hotel with a free continental breakfast too. The fake bird when you walk in is the only downside (If they haven't taken it down, you'll know what I'm talking about.)

Warning: I do not think like the average person. My remarks have plenty of thought behind them. Take it for what it's worth, if you disagree, please, feel free to express it, but don't put me down because of it.

Yep, the Grand Inn is probably your best bet. Reasonably priced, pretty much right across the street from the entrance of the park(so you dont have to pay $10 to park), and according to the sign out front, you get SFGAm one-day admissions for $25.00 if you stay in a room there. Check out their website. On the homepage, click on "Six Flags packages". They give tickets and room rates at one price. They also have an online coupon for $49.00 a night.

For the SFGAm locals, is the Baymont Inn walking distance from the park? That is where I'll be staying next week, and considering the price for parking at SFGAm it could be nice to save a few dollars.

I'm staying at the Baymont Inn also for CBC. I'm so excited and I caught their website when they had a special going on. I got a room with 2 double beds for only $49 a night! Thats a steal! I'm glad to hear that it is close to the entrance to save on parking. Are the rooms there nice? And it says that they have a "Delux" breakfast...has anyone had this? How "delux is it?

Thanks for the info, folks!
Anyone stay at the Comfort Suites on 5430 Grand Ave? Their summer pricing is very close to the Grand Inn except they throw in a sofabed with 2 queen-size beds.
NoLimitChic, The Baymont's breakfast is pretty darn good.

Toast, Ceral, Muffins, Doughnuts, (Bacon and Sausage (sometimes) , and waffles. No limit on how much you can take, and the seating area is very nice with sunshine shining in. Also, go up to the front desk and ask for the free Bottled Water.

I'll be at the Hampton. It is running me $55 a night.

Jim: I would recomend you stay at the Baymont Inn. It's only about 5 minutes from Great America. I always stay there every time I visit.

for cheaper pricing, try the Super 8 right up the road. It's just about 5 minutes north of the park, and in the same parking lot as a McDonalds. They even deliver to your room :)

nothing like room service of an Egg MCMuffin in the morning.

Go to The wonderful Bel Lane motel in Waukegan. That place rocks! NOT! We stayed there for Fright Fest '01 and that has to be the worst, dang place I have ever stayed at. The wallpaper is peeling badly, no heat, and the shower didn't even work. The place sucked badly. It should be shutdown.
