SFGAM HH free with park admission!

Like I said on the news page item; two words-locker rentals (read my reply for my fuzzy math).

Yeah... what equates to a buck per person is really going to make a difference.

News flash: we don't rent lockers at Soak City. We bring a disposable underwater camera, towels, shoes, a wagon to cart the kids, towels, and shoes, and I keep the passes, cash, and car keys in one of those little plastic "smokes holders" that I wear around my neck and bought for all of $5 at the park three years ago.

If someone wants my son's foul shoes, they are welcome to them.

In other words: SFI has been trying the "give away the gate, and make it back on in-park spending" thing for a long time. Hasn't worked yet. Why will it work this time?

Gator's crackpot theory #706: In-park spending is highest when you feel like you're getting good VALUE for your admission...that's why I have more HW merchandise than from anyplace else...

When you FEEL like you're getting *nickel-and-dimed* from parking fees, locker rentals (free at IoA/USF), sunscreen (LOL), beverages, and the like, then you're WAY less likely to take home "park souvies". Souvies are not ONLY in-park spending, they're FREE advertising (from the park's perspective at least). When you get hit once for admission and it includes stuff like a free ride reservation system (again, IoA/USF), then your PERCEPTION of getting a good value goes up....drastically.

Assuming that this reduces crowds at the RIDE park, you might see in-park spending go up THERE due to less time in line and customer's feeling like they "got their money's worth"...

Me, IF I ran SFI, you likely would've added on the waterpark for an extra 20 bucks....and it still woulda been cheaper than any other ONE-TIME waterpark admission someplace else.
