SFGAM Help

I am going to be in Chicago for Coasterbuzz Con. My friends and I wanted to go to Six Flags on Friday as well as Saturday. What I need to know is if there are any discounted coupons we can use for the park on Friday. I saw the 10% off print and go coupons but I was wondering if there are any better coupons out there. I know sometimes they will have them on Coke cans or in grocery stores. If anyone can help from that area (Chitown, or anyone else), it would be appreciated. The reason for posting is we are trying to get another friend to come with us, and the less money he has to spend, I think he will be more than willing to go.

Thanks and we will see you at CoasterbuzzCon.

Jewel stores usually sell discounted tickets/season passes. I think last year it was $10 less for a single day pass, and $72 for a season pass.

Coca-cola usually also has a coupon on their cans, but i don't know if that promotion will start by the time you're out here. My recomendation would be to get your tickets at Jewel.

Wow, how thing have changed. When I lived in Chi, they only sold the tickets and Dominick's, which was a bummer because the Dominick's near my parents house is a real hole

Anyway, to be somewhat useful, you should also check out the MVP program (replaced the 'Twickets'). It's basically a two-day pass. It might help reduce the cost as well (assuming you have not already bought Saturday's ticket through C-buzz).

Yeah Jeremy, Jewel took over selling SFGAm tickets and season passes for the 2003 season. I was kind of surprised at that to as Dominicks sold them for years. However, Dominicks is in serious financial trouble right now so it really isnt a surprise I guess.

I take it you will be coming from out of state. If so, check with the hotels in the area near the park. Most have discounted tickets when you book a room. Also check here for the sponsored hotels for SFGAm. *** Edited 4/6/2004 10:13:48 PM UTC by Chitown***

Thanks everyone, we are staying in Waukegan that weekend but I got the hotel through Priceline so I am not sure if they would do that or not. Also, is Jewel a grocery store then?

Yes Jewel is a grocery store.

Here are ones in Waukegan - http://www.jewelosco.com/jewel/locator_shell.asp?cat=3&subcat=0

Also there is one a bit down grand avenue from Great America but I am not sure if they will sell tickets or not. Continue west on Grand Ave past Great America, and just past Gurnee Mills Mall take a left on Hunt Club Road. It is in the shopping center on the right.

What hotel in Waukegan are you staying at if you don't mind me asking?

Dominick's is in trouble? That's news to me. Their sister store out here, Safeway, seems to have things on lock. Even though there are like five different chains here, Safeway seems to be the favorite (it is mine). And it's funny that Safeway is the one selling the SFA tickets (Giant does PKD)

Yeah Jeremy. Dominicks has been a problem for the last year. First it was a labor dispute in which Safeway threatened to close all the stores. Second, Dominicks is losing market share in the Chicago area and recently closed a bunch of stores.

Jewel is dominating this market right now.

More discounts might start popping up as we get closer to opening day. Also, all of the people on here who have season passes for SFGAm will get their booklets as soon as they get their passes processed, which may have some coupons. *** Edited 4/7/2004 11:43:20 PM UTC by onceler***
Chitown,

We are staying at the Marriott Residence Inn in Waukegan. I got it through Priceline for about 25 dollars cheaper than going through the actual hotel.

Nice hotel.

Anyway, I resurrected this topic to let you know that the Coke cans with the SFGAm discount are now in circulation.

From May 1st to July 4th, if you have a Coke can with the discount on it, you can get in for $25.99. Thats $16 off.

Hope this helps.

How or where do you find the Coke cans? Obviously I will be in Chicago that day so is there anywhere I could find them before we go to the park?

You could probably find them at any Jewel, Dominicks or Convient Store around the Chicagoland area. Im sure the speedway just outside of the park will have them, they aren't hard to come by.

You can stop by a convenience store(7-11) or any gas station to pick up a specially-marked Coke product. That way, you'll be sure that you have the right can.
Hopefully they will have them when I go then that Friday, if nothing else I can get the Jewel one that is 10 dollars off then.

This was the info in an email that Six Flags sent out today concerning season passes at SFGAm:

FREE COUPON BOOK LOADED WITH SAVINGS
Get a new and expanded Coupon Book featuring exciting discounts. Look at these great offers:

  • 4 days to bring a friend for free
  • 45 days to bring a friend for half-price
  • 131 days to bring a friend for $7 off
  • 3 exclusive COASTERS AFTER DARK events
  • Buy two Fast Lane passes and get one free
  • Ride the "Season Pass" trolley during the nightly parade
  • New and exciting discounts on food, merchandise and games

If that day is one of the 45 1/2 price days, you might be able to find someone on here that is going to be there that day to get you in for 1/2 price.

That sounds like a heck of a deal Onceler. If I can't find anyone, I just hope to find the Coke Cans. My main concern is that I am trying to get a couple more people to come and the cheaper the ticket, the better of a chance they would go.
