SFGAm Drive-By

Associated parks:
None

Ok, so it's not a trip report, it's a "drive-by report", but I don't get down by SFGAm very often.

Yesterday, all of the Pre-Calc classes in my school went on a field trip to an exploratorium in a high school in Illinois. That means we drove past SFGAm both ways! Man, I didn't remember being able to see so many coasters! Besides the obvious (RB, AE, Viper, and the Giant Drop), V2 and DV were plainly visible, and I could also see Shockwave, Demon, and IW (I think). Also, I noticed that, even though the park is closed, the observation tower car was at the top of the tower, not moving. Is it stored there during the off-season or something?

All in all, it was nice to see my home park again. Can't wait until the youth group trip!

RCT hypercoaster crazy!

I was amazed when I went back to CP how you can see everything from everywhere because of the lack of leaves on the trees.  I'm not sure which way I like better.  I'm leaning toward with leaves - especially in the summer because they provide some shade... :)

Yes, they always put the cabin at the top of the Sky Trek tower during the off-season. The tollway is the only spot where you can get a great view of the park(besides the parking lot). When you are going down Grand Ave. or Washington St., the view isnt as good.
