SFGAm Coasters After Dark Info

The subject of the Coasters After Dark promotions came up in a couple other threads so I thought I would relay the info about who could participate I got from John Curty, Operations Manager at SFGAm.

Any Season Passholder can participate in the CAD event. Just need to be in the park by closing time. The Season Pass will gain you access to the ride lines and I intend to run all coasters and Giant Drop. Probably the revolution as well. No coupon required.

Come on down!

John

That should clear up any confusion about who can participate and whether any coupons are required.

Cool, I was assuming it was going to be like they used to do back with the "Mtv Rock the Park" passes where they had a section of the park's coasters open, rather than all coasters.
what is this whold thing and will it happen on the night of coastercon? I have never herd of it

June 16th is the first one. It is for SFGAm season pass holders.
Coasters After Dark is a special event just for Season Passholders. Enjoy exclusive ride time for two hours on Six Flags Great America's major rides along with fellow Season Passholders. Coasters After Dark features other fun surprises, including special retail discounts throughout the park each event.

Wednesday, June 16: 9PM-11PM

Wednesday, July 21: 10PM-midnight

Wednesday, August 11: 10PM-midnight

Passholders must be inside the park 30 minutes before closing time in order to experience Coasters After Dark. Sorry, you can't be admitted to the event if you arrive any later than 30 minutes before the published closing time.

Thanks for the update Brad. I'm glad to hear that they will honor all season passes at the events. I'm looking forward to a great night of riding on the 16th.
thanks. i may just check this out

Actually, the June 16th event is on Thursday, right?

I have a friend in from out of town who has a Six Flags Great Adventure season pass. I'm assuming the statement "Any Season Pass Holder" applies to him as well (at least, I hope so).

We will be at the park by 6:00 or 7:00pm that night. Is there a specific place we need to go to participate in the event once inside the park? Otherwise, I'll just assume that we can show our season passes at the ride entrances to gain access.

:)

Uh, djGreg, this thread is from LAST YEAR...the dates are different this year. I am at work and don't have the list of dates here.

DjGreg, the CAD event is this Friday, June 17th. You need to be inside the park before 8:30 pm. All you need to do is show your season pass to the ride op near the entrance of the ride. And, yes, a SFGADv will work for the event.

The other events are Thursday, July 14th and Wednesday, August 10th. *** Edited 6/14/2005 8:07:49 PM UTC by chiatrain***

I went to one of the CAD at SFGam last year. The lines were longer than durring the day. I wont be hitting any this year, but I'm glad they are still offering it. For years they did nothing special for the Season Pass holders, not even a coupon book.

Please wait for the ride to come to a full and complete stop. Push down, then pull up on your lap bar. Thank and enjoy the rest of your day at CoasterBuzz.

Ooops... I did a search because I didn't want to create a repeat topic. I got distracted by a phone call and didn't read closely enough. Sorry about that, Redman (and thanks for pointing it out)

I just looked at my 2005 Season Pass Coupon book and they list the dates as follows...

FRIDAY, JUNE 17th (9pm til 11pm)

THURSDAY, JULY 14th (10pm til Midnight)

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 10th (10pm til Midnight)

I won't be able to go on Friday, but maybe my friend will, as he'll be in Gurnee Thursday & Friday, then Wisconsin Dells for the weekend...

CAD events are even busier than a normal operating day in terms of the lines of coasters. Not really worth it, defeats the purpose of ERT. I don't think I'll be going this year.
