SFGAm announces opening day for 2004.

Monday, December 8, 2003 7:50 PM
For those wondering when the Chicago area park will open, its Saturday, May 1st. They don't have the season schedule up yet but a small caption on the park's page shows opening day.

The countdown begins. :)

Is it just me or does SF's new site have a terrible load time?

My memory has failed me. :) Isn't that a little earlier than last year, or is it usually the first Saturday of May?

It has been the first weekend in May recently....

I remember, about 5-7 years ago, they used to open for the season the last weekend in April, but that hasn't been for a few years.

I wish those days were back, but it seems that's the route they are taking lately, (1st weekend in May)

Floorless for 2005 PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!

They are taking that route of the first weekend of May because they have a crap load of corporate private outings that rent the park throughout all the weekends in April.

Actually, I thought it was the second weekend of April that they started the buyouts.

Anyway, April is a crapshoot when it comes to weather, especially the beginning of April.

I am beginning to think that SFGAm holds the most private outings of any park. They do the outings in April, the end of September, and the beginning of October. *** Edited 12/9/2003 5:16:36 AM UTC by Chitown***

Well, I'm getting a several second load time and on a T3 connection (on this fast of a connection there is usually absolutly no lag time at all no matter what site you go to), so I'd say yes, the new site does have a terrible load time.

Ugh, those outings... I know this all boils down to me being careless, because I didn't check the schedule ahead of time, but I drove out for what I thought was the first Sunday of Frightfest (and it usually was) but LaSalle rented the park out. Needless to say, it was a costly mistake. :)
