SFGAM Announces Coasters

I received an employee mailer from SFGAM that listed descriptions of the new coasters. I will list out the specifications for the two coasters.

INVERTED BOOMERANG ROLLER COASTER

Opening:
Spring 2001 - County Fair

Features:
Speed - 65 mph
Height - 177 feet
Track Length - 1203 feet
Angle of first drop - 90 degrees
One Vertical Loop - 102 feet
Cobra Roll - 110 feet

Vehicles:
One ski-lift style train
24 passengers per train (The flyer didn't say anything about how many across the trains would sit.)

Notes:
This coaster will take the place of Sky Whirl and the Haybayler.

IMPULSE (LIM) ROLLER COASTER

Opening:
Spring - Yankee Harbor

Features:
Speed - 65 mph
Height - 185 feet (both towers; first tower will feature spiral)
Track Length - 630 feet total

Vehicles:
On ski-lift style train
28 passengers per train

Notes:
The majority of the ride cycle will take riders over Yankee Harbor pond. This coaster will replace Whirligig in Yankee Harbor. Whirligig will take the place of the Batmobile in front of Batman Rhe Ride. The lighthouse will be removed from this area.

Pretty cool stuff.

The opening day for the public, according to the flyer is May 5th, 2001.

I thought the Invertigo was going to be a clone of MM's. Why isn't the cobra roll 125 ft.? Plus SFO's Superman goes like 72 MPH. What are we like not good enough or something? ;)But they still said nothing about colors or names right?

-------------
Jack, who CAN wait now for Opening Day 2001...
The old Invertigos sat 28 people. 7 cars 4 each
Why does the Super invertigo sit less.
If it were to have 6 cars like the old invertigos it would sit 24
If it were to be 4 across it would still have 6 cars just not facing each other.

What does the one at MM have on it in the Generated movie.

-------------
#1 Steel-Incredible Hulk
#1 Wood--Timber Wolf
When the Super Invertigo was rumored to sit like 52 or 56, the throughput wouldn't have been that bad. But 24 and 28 (S:UE) passengers per vehicles and toned down specs from what we had heard before. Errrrrr... :( *** This post was edited by inverted_one on 2/1/2001. ***

I read that somewhere, not quite sure where though. If you look at the picture it shows 12 rows which would hold 48 if it were four to a row.
Yeagh, we got ripped off!

What is life without geniuses?
This sounds like a good enough reason for me to get a season pass this year, not that I wasn't already going to. Now it's going to be an extra good year.

Ok, if the height (drop) is about 20 feet shorter than Deja Vu at SFMM, then how can the speed and track length be the same? One would think that the speed would be lower and that the track length would be 40 feet shorter. Also, the height for the elements are the same. Does this mean that the one at MM will go through the elements faster?

So, what stats are correct?
Looks that both of the stats are correct. I would think that the SFMM version will travel a little bit faster.

Well, ya know what, it doesn't matter if it's taller by 20 ft. Both of the rides are gonna rock. I know I'm very happy for what I'm getting, and I think everyone else should be too. SFGAm for 2001 is going to be the best!!!!!

And the Impulse is the same height at S:UE yet it is only 65mph instead of S:ue's 70Mph, however i question that S:UE goes 70 MPH, 70 Mph is the same speed as the Mr. Freeze rides, which then go through inversions, and they go more than 200 feet in the air, S:UE is 180 and after launch it goes directly up the spike.

Um, I wonder if it occured to anyone else that these coasters are *exactly* the same (All three Superinvertigoes, and the Impulses). Vekoma is not going to make a coaster 20 ft smaller. They're exactly the same, just different marketing departments.

I also have a season pass and I haven't recieved anything either. I live in Chicago so I don't think where you live makes a difference. But I think we do get some type of letter with a discount for this years pass. I think...
