If you don't have anything nice to say don't say ANYTHING at all.
Why would an announcement be made at an enthusiast event? Seems to me sending out press releases to mainstream media would make a hell of a lot more sense.

The annoucement doesn't have to be offical to be an annoucement. At No Coaster in 2001 the park discussed both V2 and Deja Vu openly even though neither coaster had been officially announced at the time. They even showed stock footage of V2 @ SFWoA and the computer animation of Deja Vu. So just because the park hasn't been officially announced doesn't mean the park won't discuss it.

Um...the question was, "When will the ride be announced?" Not when will we know what it is. We already know what it is.

Man .. are you the type of person who corrects how someome pronounces the word "pedantic"?! ;)
My comment didn't mean that they would ONLY tell the 'no-coaster conn' attendees. Simply that an official (ie: media) announcement would possibly come around about that time (either the Friday before, or the Monday after).
No, I don't 'know' .. it's just a "gessumption".
