SFGAM 8/19- Mostly Observing

Associated parks:
None

My dad, Bob (a friend of mine), and I arrived at 10:30, and my stomach didn't feel like riding initially, so I didn't ride very much; however, I still had fun people-watching and coaster-watching. When we got there, I checked the "injured list" (football season is coming, and I couldn't resist calling it that). Deja Vu, Shock Wave, Ice Mountain Splash, and East River Crawler were listed.

First coaster: Viper (I didn't ride). While waiting, I noticed that the trim on RB's third hill was definitely on.

Next up: RB (didn't ride). Could be just me, but it looked like the lift on Giant Drop speeds up about halfway up the tower, kind of like MF. After RB, we looked at DV. Train was vallied (valleyed?) between the loop and the boomerang.

After that, we came to AE (didn't ride). After AE, we headed to IW, which broke down not long after Dad and Bob got in line. Due to the breakdown, we headed for V2 (didn't ride). While Dad and Bob were on the platform, waiting for the front row, B:TR got stuck at the top of the lift.

After V2, we temporarily left the park to eat at McDonald's . Upon our return, we went to B:TR (didn't ride). While waiting, I checked out the nearby arcade (which used to be a store), hoping to find a DDR machine so I could see what they look like. No DDR per se, but there was a game that looked like the same type of game as DDR.

After B:TR, we headed to IW (didn't ride). This time, Dad and Bob got to ride.

Then, we headed to the final ride of the day- Whizzer! The three of us got in line. Whizzer must be a rather low capacity ride; the line was moving rather slowly, and Bob eventually left, saying he had to go to the bathroom and he'd wait for us near the exit. When Dad and I were near the stairs that lead up to the platform, the ride broke down! We decided to wait it out. 15 minutes later, the ride was running again. Dad and I rode in 4-3 and 4-2, respectively. Man, Whizzer is fast for a family ride! I had my hands up for most of the ride!

After Whizzer, I wanted to get a shirt of RB (since, though I didn't ride it this time, I rode it last time). We first hit the Carousel Plaza store, which had the shirt I was looking for, but in the wrong size. Next, we headed to After Shock (I think it used to be called Coaster Dude), which was closed. Then, we went to Flags (the store at the park entrance), where I found the shirt I was looking for. I had been considering "cheating" and getting a shirt of IW too, but I didn't find one. Good thing, as I spent nearly all of the $20 I brought with me on the RB shirt! Overall, even though I only rode one coaster, I had a great day! I was wearing my dark blue MF shirt, in case any of you saw me.
