SFGAm 8-21-02, Almost a dissapointing Day! AEbrake

Associated parks:
None

We got there at 9:45. We didn't even have to wait in line for my friend's free ticket. They were handing it out at the front.

My friend looked at the "Rides that may not be open," list and she told me Raging Bull was on it. I told her they would probably open Raging Bull after an hour or so.

Knowing Deja Vu was not going to be open we went to Viper. Viper did not open right away. We waited about 15 minutes before it opened. The only major thrill ride open in Southewest Territory was Giant Drop. While we were in the station, we were next to ride, when it broke down. Someone was stuck in their harness in one of the first couple rows. It took about 10 minutes till he got off.But we were finnaly able to get onto Viper. We went back row. Awesome. 30 minute wait total

Next was Giant Drop.About 30 minute wait. Fun

We then went to American Eagle. We got closer to the front of the line and noticed only one blue train running so we decided not to wait extra time and we went forwards. OK, I know you may think that AE Backwards does not have the brakes on during the helix but honestly, I think they are always on. I have been on days that other buzzers have been to SFGAm and their TR said that the brakes weren't on but I always felt they were. I noticed they were on when we got to race the backwards side. When we got to the helix they were ahead and all of a sudden I saw them slow down from the brakes, and I thought we would pass them but then we slowed from the brakes. So that is why I always think they are on but you just can't feel them. AE always a great ride. Another 30 minute wait.

We checked out the line for Iron Wolf, it was long so we ate lunch.

We came back to the park and rode Batman. Broke down while we were at the top of the stairs. We waited for front. It was about an hour and 15 minute wait. We ate at the Grill place by Power Alley. Then went to the Magic Show. After we checked out V2. It was too long so we skipped it.

Went back to Iron Wolf, the line had died down so we went in line. It was about 4pm. I was upset at this point because obviously Deja Vu was not open, Shockwave was not open, Raging Bull had yet to be opened, and we skipped one of my favorite Rides, V2, because my friends didn't want to wait. While in Iron Wolf's line, I thought I was hallucinnating when I saw Raging Bull with trains on the track. I asked my friend to look and they didn't see it. So when we got into the station, we saw it working. I got really excited and we went straight to RB after Iron Wolf. 45 minute wait. Fun

We got in line for Raging Bull. 45 minute wait. We went second to last row. Great Ride.

I didn't know RB not being open would affect me so much. But I am so glad it finnaly opened or I would have had a horrible day at SFGAm. RB made my day, even though it is not my favorite ride.

When i go to to gadv I am not that angry if Nitro is close d because I have been on it a lot.
I have been on Raging Bull a lot, don't get me wrong. It's just, my day didn't seem fulfilled because I didn't get that much thrill!

I agree, Jed. A day without the Bull at Great America doesn't feel like much of a day... :(
