SFGAM 6/17:"Don't take Girls with You"

Associated parks:
None

Den: Funny thinig about that trip was the fact that I couldn't wait to get in a wavepool. I was literally doing single laps on most coasters to get them out of the way by SFWOA.

The CPlaya 100--6 days, 9 parks, 47 coasters, 2037 miles and a winner.....LoCoSuMo.

Playa: I *do* know what you're talking about. No matter where my wife and I go on vacation (including recent trips to Vegas, L.A., San Diego, Chicago, Gatlinburg), we had the best times just playing around in the pool at the hotel, or lying in bed watching crappy 80s sitcoms on cable. *That's* what vacation is all about...

A day is a drop of water in the ocean of eternity. A week is seven drops.

Den, I kinda sorta agree and disagree. I guess for me, I can sleep and chill out by the tv and pool at home.

When I'm on vacation, I want to be *doing* something. I mean yeah, I'll hit a waterpark or two at a park, but I won't spend all day in it. I like to do other things (coasters, flats, people watch, somtimes a show here and there) or sightsee (a huge reason I can't wait for my northwest coast tour this August!).

I guess it's just different strokes for different folks. But I definitely don't go around calling people WAVEPOOL DORKS because they like chilling in there. Definitely not, I guess I'm more mature than that? Yeah, that's it.

Top Thrill Dragster -- The most intense, unbelievable, and spectacular fifteen seconds on any coaster, anywhere, ever.

I didn't mean to imply that we spend the whole day in the pool. It's just that we don't get up at 6 a.m. and go go go until midnight. We always make sure to allot a certain amount of time during the day for chilling.

Hey dude, i know that you're young and all but your comments are sexist. They have no bearing on anything related to coasters. I could just as easily say that taking females to a baseball game is a pain in the butt but i don't because i respect the fact that being a woman is different but still cool. Besides, i know plenty of men that take just as much time in the bathroom as women. You might as well say that you shouldn't take people wearing red to the park, because they stop to look around too much and always want to buy cotton candy. That statement is equally asinine.

Point is - if you don't like certain friends because they don't do what you like to do at the park, don't take them, but don't generalize just because you had a bad experience with three friends who happened to be women.

Again, i realize you're a little younger and that's cool - i appreciate views of all ages on this site but i think you should learn that stereotyping doesn't belong here (or anywhere in my opinion). And that's my 2 cents - call me a whiney bleeding-heart pinko if you want, but that's how i feel. :)

S:ROS; SFNE. Ride it, and you'll understand.

lets see, i take a bunch of my female friends to a park, and we have one, rarely two 'breaks' a day, spend at LEAT 15 bucks in the arcade, and ride each ride we can, as many as we can. No one complains, slows things down, or tries to shop instead of ride.

I can say a lot of girls can be the way you described, but there is a good many that apprieciate theme parks the way they should.

Wow... I've never seen so many people in more dire need of getting laid in my life.

Stereotypes are stupid. That's why I'm glad I'm married to someone who will ride everything, play video games, look at chicks, eat, drink beer and piss only when necessary.

Don't write off the entire sex because of your inability to choose female companions. At the end of the day I'm in a warm bed with a woman and you're by yourself.

Wow, thank you Coasterphil for clearing up the innate differences between males and females. I was under the impression I was going to parks to enjoy myself. Now I know that I should be worried about how many times I have to pee or what an inconvenience I am to the guys in the group because I have boobs. At the ripe old age of 15, I'm glad to see you know everything there is to know about females. Did you learn all this from health class or from the media? I think you forgot to mention that we have uncontrollable PMS 24/7, cry incessantly at the slightest comment and travel in packs (especially to the bathroom).

Den: Awesome! You have no idea what a turn-on it is for women to see a bunch of guys spitting like crazy in the park. The bigger the ball of spit and the more noise associated with it, the more excited we get! I'm surprised you don't have a herd of women following you everywhere you go. Oh yeah, watch what you say because we cannot handle "questionable comments" (they make us break out into tears) and hell, we never make fun of people. ;)

In a related topic, I refuse to go to amusement parks with men. They always ignore me in the queue when I want to talk, run from one ride to the next without letting me stop and pee, spit, scratch their crotches, oogle every pair of boobs that passes by, fart incessantly and only talk about cars or sports.

It's good to know the art of stereotyping isn't dead yet.

I'm sorry! I shouldn't have put that as my title. I will never take the girls I went with to a park again. I will take others, but not teh same group because they fit the stereotype.

This is by far the funniest TR I have ever read. Thanks for the laugh guys.

I do have a comment about Jeff's reply though. I know you're the webmaster and all, but that comment was simply mean. I'm sure you realize not everyone here is as lucky as you, and most are a LOT younger as well. There was really no need to point out the fact that you have what these kids want.

dawnmarie... LMAO... you should get a stand up act.

"Don't take girls with you" -- I totally, 100%, undeniably..... disagree. Some of the BEST experiences I've had at parks were with girls. So what if they want to do things you don't... I'm sure you did things they didn't want to do. Variety is the spice of life... Hell... I keep saying I NEVER ride flats, but somehow, a girl is just the encouragement it takes to get me to ride one. Sometimes I even enjoy it ::embarrassed::

Point is: if you can enjoy your company, you'll have a good time... even if it means skipping your favorite ride.

And you can just imagine how much I care that you think I shouldn't have said anything.
