SFGAm 5/19/02

Associated parks:
None

Went to SFGAm today, weather channel said it was going to be cold and some rain....they were wrong! Nice out all day! All day there were barely any lines and the longest line I waited in was to get a coke!

Vertical Velocity- 2 rides-front row-no line. Man, this ride is AWESOME in the front. Last time I went, I rode in the back and thought the ride was stupid, but that all changed. Is it just me, or is it really LOUD in the station? Anyway it was fun and the line was in the station so I had a great time.

American Eagle- 4 rides-back row backwards-no line. Much better backwards than forwards, still a bumpy ride, the brakes were NOT ON in the helix! Does anyone know why there are those pads on the side of the car?

Batman-1 ride-middle-no line. One of my favs. seems to be smoother this year.

Iron wolf-1 ride-middle-no line. I wish I could say the same about this B&M but it was rougher and I banged my head a lot more than last year.

Giant Drop-2 rides-no line. Not a rollercoaster but I had to mention there was no wait at all compared to the normal 1 hour wait.

Raging bull-3 rides-back 2x and middle 1x-10 min. line. Smooth, fast, and lots of airtime, what more could I say?

Viper-1 ride-back-no line. Didn't like this that much compared to the other times I went on it. Still fun.

DeJa Vu-0 rides-no row-no line. As you can tell Deja Vu was still closed today, but it did do 7 successful test runs. Also I saw them take out the stairs to get on the loading platform, strange.

I can confirm that Power Dive is almost completely gone. Also the park looks a lot better and newer for some reason. They were also filming a commercial but I didn't see them but there were signs everywhere saying that they were filming etc... All in all a great day at a great park.

Those pads on the side of AE's cars are the wings! It's so it can fly, but it flies lopsided, because the gate-side of the train has longer wings ;)

Deja Vu count this season: 1, but thats still more than most other people who've been to SFGAm this season!

LOL!, I am pretty sure thet they are so you can't stick your hands out of the train, so no hand slapping or anything, but it wouldn't matter since they never race ;)

Welcome one and all, y'all come have a ball!
Things a bear-y fine, ridin' on the old Knott's bear-y line!

Eagle races alot now, I was also there yesterday and I wouldn't say it was empty. It was a typical sunday in May crowd. Most of the lines were about 15 minutes around mid day.

Batman and Bull both reached about Half Hour lines.

I never saw the filming either for whatever they were shooting but I did see the signs all over the place for it.

Deja Vu's seats had sandbags or dummies (whatever you want to call them) in every seat. And it seems they were testing almost everything with the ride, evn the announcments. I heard all the break down announcements it has coming from the line. Funny thing happened when I stopped in front of Deja Vus line too look at it, I looked behind me and a line had formed lol.

Just to clear some things up, I went on Batman and V2 rught when they opened so that is why there was no line, but most of the day there were no lines for me.

Sorry I didn't catch this sooner...

The pads on the sides of Eagle are to keep riders' hands inside the train (no handslapping).
