I was wondering if anybody got their pass processed yet for SFGAm... If so could you share when the "Bring a friend for free" coupons are valid? Thanks so much!

I can't speak at all to your question, but I did notice some interesting changes in the SFoT coupon book.

#1 - Bring a friend free to any other park became bring a friend 50% to any other park (sadness)

#2 - One of the season pass holder appreciation days is closed to the public and only for pass holders and their guests.

^I like #2, I think that's a great idea.

  • September 12-13 and 19
  • From SFGAm's website.

^^ They did the same thing as SFMM this year and I also think that having season passholder night be closed to the public is a great idea.

My mother (1946-2009) once asked me why I go to Magic Mountain so much. I said I feel the most alive when I'm on a roller coaster.
    2010 total visits: SFMM-9, KBF-2
    2010 total ride laps: 437

I thought all the SF parks had Season Passholder nights where the park is closed to everyone else. Great Adventure is having one tomorrow night Coasters After Dark which has been going on for years and another one in the Fall, also been going on for years. Plus Easter where the park is closed to everyone but SP holders and another private group (buyout).

Too bad they aren't doing Mother's Day and Father's Day again. I thought that was a great idea. :(

I can't speak for other pass holders, but ERT nights have very little appeal to me. I have ridden the crap out of everything at my home park and so most of the time I just go to be in the park, not to ride anything (it doesn't help that nothing at my home park blows me away).

^Nearly everything at your home park blows me away...(you are talking SFoT, right?)... about the only thing I'd change is replacing Titan with an RoS clone.

    Yes, SFoT.

I have a low tolerance for strong positive G's so that rules out Shockwave (I know, I know...), B:TR, Titan and Freeze (not as bad, but still disorienting) and I can only ride Giant in front at night or my back hurts. Vibora and Runaway Mountain always have a ridiculous line and they aren't that interesting to me in the first place.

So really, when I go, I ride Judge Roy, S:TOP and Tony Hawk and maybe get one or two laps on Titan. Not a very good case for a specific trip to get some ERT.

I'd take any of your "home" parks in exchange, Gator.

Having moved from GAdv. (pre-ET) and being able to marathon Nitro, KK, and being able to ride S:UF and Medusa indefinitely, I could spend an evening there and ride non-stop without getting bored or sick.

Disney's Hollywood Studios, I'll throw in Aerosmith free of charge - done and done! Man I cannot WAIT to take another spin on my Vibora when it gets here.... :)

Now I'm not saying SFGAm doesn't have a great collection (but oh do I miss Shockwave and Deja Vu), just that when you go multiple times a season when nothing new is added, you begin to go more for the atmosphere than anything else.

Granted I only rode RnRC 3 times, but I liked it better than anything at SFoT. And ToT? Plus it's a Disney park with some really neat shows and attractions? Star Tours and Indiana Jones? Sold!

^^Not to mention Lights, Motors, Action and Fantasmic! I loved Fantasmic! (Illuminations is still my fave)

And Toy Story Midway Mania. I haven't tried it yet but I have yet to hear anyone say it's a bad ride and most say it is their favorite ride in the park.
