Expecting it to be dead, I decided to make my final visit of the season to SFGAm on Columbus Day. I couldnt have picked a better day. The weather was beautiful, the crowds were light, and the employees were actually very pleasant. It all added up to one of the best days I have spent at SFGAm and one hell of a finish for the 2k2 coaster riding season.

The longest line I personally waited in was about 15 minutes and that was for front row on Batman. I didnt do the big giant green thing as there seemed to be too long of line for it and I wanted to marathon as many coasters as I could. Every other coaster in the park I rode at least once if not more. Raging Bull I clocked in at least 15 laps, most of them right before closing as I wanted to end the season on that one.

Notable moments: Got lots of front seat rides that I normally would never wait for. Raging Bull was the most suprising of them all. Having riden this thing to death in the back it was like a new ride in the front. There was still abundant airtime all over the ride just at different moments, moments I didnt expect. I have a feeling next season I will hit the front a few more times because it was wonderful.

I took the train ride to go see the Superman track. You have to basically look "through" a fence to see it (those of you that have been on the train looking for stuff back there will know what I mean by looking through the fence) but they have a very sizable pile of track.

So it was time to say goodbye to yet another coaster season. A tear nearly escaped my eye as I ascended the lift on Raging Bull one final time. I looked back on a wonderful season and all the wonderful parks I have visited and all the great coasters I have riden and all the awesome people I have met over the season. So now I must wait until February for my annual Florida coaster pilgramage to ride again.

On a side note, I picked up HyperRails at Gurnee Mills at GameStop. It was their final copy, they will be ordering no more. This game was a hard one to get my hands on, I had almost given up and ordered it through Amazon. Freakin awesome game too! :)

Strange, I have heard only bad things about Hyper Rails.

Whatever though, glad you had fun. SFGAM is a great park which was much better than I expected when I went for the first time in over 6 years back in 2001.

Kennywood Park, America's finest traditional amusement park.

I find the best view of the track (in general) is from the top of Iron Wolf's lift.

The top 3 all time cobrarolls.

1)Raptor's
2)Deja Vu's (times 3)
3)Batman Knight Flight's

But isn't riding Iron Wolf an awfully steep price to pay....;)

LOL, its so true...I did not like that ride, although I have never been on a stand up I actually liked, including Mantis.

Yeah, I rode Iron Wolf while I was there but I was too busy worrying about the "boys" to be looking for B&M track other than the one I was riding on ;)

Yea when I went there on a class trip in 2001, a friend had the ''seat'' latched down way too low...lets just say I heard a word I cant say here come out of his mouth at one point in the ride, and he didnt ride another coaster for a few hours after that...actually could hardly walk...might have been him overreacting, but who knows....

Hmmmmm. Most people complain of headbanging on Iron Wolf. Just squat down a little before they lock the restraints. You might have more pressure on your shoulders but its well worth being able to have kids later on. :)

2 superheroes in Gurnee next season? Oh the humanity. :)

I used to squat down quite a bit actually when riding it but then the restraint would be too far down and I would get tossed around. Overcompensated this time. Ouch!

Next time Bob, you need to take ME with you on Raging Bull! That way I can "act" scared! ;)

We have waited all through the years for the 6 jokers cards...Carnival of Carnage, the Ringmaster, the Riddlebox, the Great Milenko, the Amazing Jeckel Brothers and now the 6th and Final card...the Wraith. What will happen now?

Nice TR! I also just got Hyper Rails and think it's a pretty good game.
