SFGAm 5/4/02

Associated parks:
None

Arrived at the park at 10:00 sharp. Walked in at 10:20, stupid metal detectors!

Walked over to Delay-JaVu waited 15 minutes before it broke the FIRST time. More on that later. Got out of that line and walked to Raging Bull.

Raging Bull: Great ride. Not as good as Nitro, but still a B&M masterpiece.

Viper: First time on this coaster, loved every second of this thing. Airtime city, great laterals, ultra smooth.

American Eagle: We decided to go for the backward train. Man was that a good choice! I hope they continue to run this coaster backwards from now on.

Batman: Hands down the best ride I have every had on any B:TR. Wow, the intensity was out of this world. Kudos to SFGAm for the off season maintenance. It ran smooth as glass.

V2: First time on it, I have ridden S:UE but never V2. What is there to say, love the launch, the back tower is still my favorite.

Demon: The only reason I ride this is because it was my first steel coaster. I'll leave it at that!

No Shockwave for me, thank you. I enjoy not having a headache.

No Iron Wolf. I'm not a big fan of stand-ups, with the exception of Mantis and Riddlers.

Now about Deja-Vu. I saw it break down no less than 4 times, twice while waiting for it. My advice, demand that Vekoma buy it back. Tear it down and install an Arrowbatic. A ride that unreliable has no place at a major park. I'm sure that the DOZENS of people that did get to ride it, like it, but the ride needs to go to a small park with small crowds.

All in all it was a great time. Nice weather and intense coasters, can't get better than that!

So many coasters, so little vacation time....

I still don't see why people like to skip Demon, I make sure to hit it lots of times on every trip, the line is short, the theming is good, sure not what it used to be, but hey it is still there. Night rides are the best, you can ride over and over, and never get off, and the lighting effets are cool, it just makes it more eerie, you also get to talk to the crew alot :-)

Welcome one and all, y'all come have a ball!
Things a bear-y fine, ridin' on the old Knott's bear-y line!

Yeah, I have a soft spot for Demon. You never forget your first!

I only saw Déjà Vu barke down once during the day, Im not sure the break down your talking about was an acutal brake down. Everytime I looked over I saw it running perfectly with the exception of when time when it did get stuck on the lift but it was back up under 15 minutes. Trus me I looked over there many times to make sure it was always going strong. As for Batman I have to agree it is running great so far. When I rode it last week at B96 I was completly amazed and I too stated it was the best time I have ever ridden that ride. It actually became my favorite ride in the park after that, well until yesterday when it changed back to Déjà Vu. I dont know what it is about that ride but wow. I still think highyl of Batman right now very close to my #1 in the park!
DejaVuv2050501, Why would I make that up? It was down 4 times that I saw. Twice for waiting in line. Each of those times I waited 15-20 minutes before leaving the line.

Then while eating at the Farmers Market food court, we noticed that it didn't run for 30 minutes or so.

The last time I walked past it after exiting the Demon. I noticed about half the people in line sitting on the ground and Six Flags maintenance guys walking around.

That thing has serious issues. I mean come on, the ride experience itself maybe the greatest in coaster history ( I'll give you the benefit of the doubt). But the coaster itself is so poorly engineered that it only ran, what 2 weekends last year? Now on opening day this year it breaks down every couple hours.

I hope after seeing this disaster, that all other parks will heed the warning and never build one of these piles of crap!

Hey man....that "pile of crap" delivers big-time IF you can get on it, some way, somehow.
I rode Deja Vu for the first time thursday at SFMM. It did not break down. On Saturday I waited for two hours. Didn't break down. The only problem I see this thing having is loading problem. But it really is a great ride. I agree with Bull. Worth the long wait.

All I know is that every time I have gone to the park since it opened I was able to ride.
