SFGAdv...any advice?

Some friends and I will be going to SFGAdv for the first time. We expect to spend Monday night, all of Tuesday, and part of Wednesday at the park. Any last minute advice before we head out would be very appreciated!
Get there early and head right for KA. Hopefully it will be open at 10. Tuesday depending on the weather you might wanna get a Q bot. If you don't wanna eat int he park there are a few fast food places and a outlet place with a food court up the road. Enjoy your trip and have fun!

Thanks,
DMC

Advice - ride every major coaster including skull mountain, and of course other thrill rides. I would recommand the Q-Bot for such rides like KK and The Chiller. The food isn't too bad, but it's very expensive; it's like $4 for a water, and $6 for a slice of pizza. But everything about Gadv is awesome, so just have fun and ride whatever you like, every ride there counts.

So have a "great adventure" at Great Adventure.

Man Nitrofreak, you could be on an add on TV for Great Adventure. ;)

i'm not sure what to put here..

You are already following my primary advice. Don't go on a summer weekend.
Goliath Freak- If you are not from the area, I agree with Nitro Freak. Are you guys brothers or cousins or something?) A Q-Bot is the way to go. If you can, splurge for the gold-Bot. This way you can save lots of time and get the most out of your day. *** Edited 8/15/2005 3:22:21 AM UTC by Richie Reflux***

Here's To Shorter Lines & Longer Trip Reports!

Get to the park at least a half hr. before opening and get into the park. Wait at the holding pen and head straight to KK. The correct path is down the boardwalk on the left, past the game stands, right turn into Golden kingdom, hug the left wall (past the gift shop and bathrooms). I was there on Saturday, *ran* to the ride, got front seat on second public train of the day and by the time I came out (about 10:05) the line was already an hr. Later in the day it made it up to 2 hrs.

Don't get out of line for breakdowns on KK. It ALWAYS breaks down and usually they can get it back up within 30 minutes and occasionally it takes an hr. or two. If you're already in line, people in front of you will leave pretty quickly. It's really hard to make it through the line without a breakdown, so just wait it out. On that note, when they tell you the wait time for the ride, add a half hr. average for breakdowns. Rarely you'll get no breakdown (if you're lucky) and sometimes you'll get two or three, each of 30 minutes or so. It's really variable.

And if you manage your time correctly and are going for multiple days, there is no reason your should need a q-bot. Just be smart about which rides you hit when the crowds are low (KK and Chiller, specifically) and you should be fine.

Also, remember to ride Skull Mountain in the back row. Best drop in the park! (seriously - better than Nitro and KK :P)

Have fun!

Do you have to be over 18 to rent a qbot? And can you pay with cash? *** Edited 8/19/2005 8:03:26 PM UTC by coasterniece***

CP was amazing, going back next June to ride Maverick

Psssh Andy, best drop in the park my butt. Nitro's drop owns Skull's! :) I think the drop is good on SM but it's not really that good.

And besides, neither will be next year anyway.

OMG I have a new sig!!!
I have one more question: Why did they stop using the original line? It is still there, just roped off. *** Edited 8/19/2005 7:07:34 PM UTC by Goliath Freak***

They were having huge problems with crowds getting to the lockers. There would be a huge line onto the midway for people trying to get past the locker point while the line in the full queue wasn't being utilized.

The new line has the locker point in the middle of the line, rather than at the beginning.

The correct solution would have been to move the lockers out onto the midway rather than behind the snack shop, but "oh well."

And Skull's drop is way better than your butt. Or at least that's what Moosh tells me.

Well that's one reason, but the major reason for the new queue is to get the line away from the launch track. They are not taking ANY chances with this anymore. The old queue went under the launch track and right next to it. The new queue does not go anywhere as near as the old queue did.
fast pass
