KA ran solid the whole month of Oct. It was shut down a few times however, due to weather conditions.Ditto for Dragster.

You'd be surprised at how much garbage a park generates per day. Unlike the ride ops who got to go home when it rained, we were out there in all of the nasty weather. Plus, you had to be pretty limber to move around the cue lines. I dropped three inches off my waist and about 25 lbs over the course of the summer. I also ended up with legs like a draft horse, but that was a bonus.
Got to go home in the rain!? Well, sometimes we did. But only after everthing was cleaned, and many times we would wax the Blue Streak trains (with pride!). That was a lot of work! Mind you, that was back in the early 90's.
Actually, unless it was severe rain, the Blue Streak ran with one train :) Again, this was early 90's.
I remember one time we had this wicked thunderstrom and they actually called everybody off the midway. I was right in front of the TTD station when I was told about it. I didn't think much of it because if lightning was going to hit, it'd either hit TTD or Power Tower.
The good news was that it helped clear out the park quickly.

Pretty much anything that people complain about SF for can be said for CF these days and vice versa (with the exception of a virtual queue system - you're welcome, Lost Kause :) ).
Either you are a mind reader, or I am just that predictable? ;)

You're just that predictable, like the sun rising in the east.

^^I would think CF operations are still better. Less empty seats, higher hourly capacity? I wouldn't know, haven't been to a cedar fair park in a few years. Just thinking (hoping!) that the service hasn't declined to the level of one of the 'typical' Six Flags parks.
I know that I am; that's why I added the winkieface.
I agree, Demon. It's just hard for me to believe that any SF park has the same awesome capacity that Cedar Point may have.
I hate to say it though, but the high capacity, hurry-up-and-get-thet-train-out mentality that is present at Cedar point is not what I have experienced at many other Cedar Fair parks, even Kings Island.
Getting back on topic, I wonder what kind of capacity issues Great Adventure might have during this event? They could save some money if they just offered one or two trains during the ERT. ;)

From the "outside in" the differences get more and more negligible each season.Visiting a SF park and a CF park yield virtually identical experiences these days.
What do you french kiss at a CF park anyway? :)
I'm sure Kingda Ka would have been only running 2 trains, that would probably have been enough.
They canceled the event though because of the weather. I don't blame them since no one is going to come out to the park with cold weather, gusts up to 50 mph and rain. I just hope they reschedule.
