After work I went to GA and when I got onto Nitro (after not being there for a couple weeks) I noticed a change. Does anyone know Why they took out the brass cable/safety-hook that attaches from your seat to the restraint??? I had front row left (THE most exciting seat on the whole ride) and it was Even More Exciting knowing the cable (my security blanket) was gone!! However, I don't need THAT MUCH excitement...wish it was still there. What's the story?
Whoa! What's up with that! Raging Bull and Apollo are fine without them so I wouldn't worry about safety, but I wonder why they were gone. Every seat? How many trains without them?

The ride attendant who was checking the restraints before dispatching saw me looking for it and he said "They took them off." I rode again on row 5 and they were missing there too, so I guess it's all seats on all three trains.

They got rid of the cables because they were slowing down loading time and people were getting cut on the metal cables if they frayed. They didn't cover the holes yet that are left by the removed cables but I'm sure they will. They also added the Nitro logo to the front of all three trains.

I'm glad they removed them. It is going to make the loading process much quicker. When I went, people were fiddling with the cables like crazy to get them on and off.
I am going soon... I can't wait to ride it.
I went Yesterday and I will say the loading time has definately speeded up since the removal of those cables.I was a bit discouraged by the line being all the way out of the Queue but,i only stood in line for a half hour. The line was constantly moving which made the whole half hour fly by.I would say to anyone going who hasn't been yet, don't be afraid if the line is very long,it moves very fast. The first time i went on Nitro there was no line so i pretty much walked on so,yesterday i didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly suprised.

Rickyswmn: Thanks for the info. Like you, my initial reaction to a long line is that "oh damn!" feeling, so when the line actually moves quickly, it's a big "YES!!" I love hearing a long line moves fast! I hope to ride NITRO later this summer.

Mother, did it need to be so high?

The line moves extreemly fast now and we also noticed that Nitro itself is running much faster than when it first opened. Rode the back seat left it felt as if we flew through the entire ride.
I know I am late to notice this post, but someone mentioned at on R.R-C and I wanted to know more...
1) Does anyone have pics of this modification?
2)Is there a design flaw? What I read was that the cables are fraying and catching on clothing, but is that accurate? How does that happen?

i did notice the line moving alot faster! a whole lot faster! becuase when i went oepning day the line was short but about 15 mins but if the same line was there now it would only be like 10 and thats a big difrence when u have about 600 peopel in line or more.
Isnt the cable a safety protocall? Ive been on Nitro several times and the cable never bothered me.Im just freaked that now if the restraint lock undoes itself, there's nothing to keep it from returning to loading position MIDRIDE!

What's a world without upstops?!
Im not sure, but initially I read that the cable latch was made primarily so the ride could acomadate larger guests. Them not being their really isn't a safety issue, otherwise they wouldn't have been removed. Likewise, Raging Bull and AC are doing fine without them Also people should be happy the are gone. All they did was slow down the line.
We know that AC and RB don't have them and now they were removed from Nitro. My question is why were they removed? Did anyone witness people getting their clothes snagged on the wires? Were they removed simply to improve loading times?
