If I ever choose a Six Flags park over Knoebels may I magically become straight!

"Come experience the new and improved Six Flags- a place so great, it will make straight men turn gay and gay men turn straight!"

I read that article, too. My take is that it is isomorphic to the reaction of most Disneyphiles who visit some other theme park---everything has to "look like" a Disney park, otherwise it must suck. These folks would go to, say, Kennywood and pronounce it a disaster. Except maybe for Old Kennywood. That part would probably be "okay."

Heavily themed areas (as the article writer was looking for) is not the first distinguishing factor between a "good" park from a "bad" park for me. Customer service is---capacity, cleanliness, etc.

Amen Brian!
I'm really susprised a hardcore Disney fanatic (i.e. anyone that contributes regularly to a site like Jim Hill Media, Mouse Planet or Mice Age) would even consider going to a non-Disney park. I love Disney but apparantly not as much as others- many of those Disney fanatics have tunnel vision and more or less refuse to even acknowledge anything without the Disney name stamped on it.
