My friend, her dad and I all decided to go to six flags yesterday. We got to the park around 2:00 and arrived at a horrible site.. CARS!!!!!
First let me say, that the park was more crowded than I have ever seen it in my life, and I have been going here for a while. Ive been on saturdays in August and July, Fridays, mondays, everyday you could think of. But never, never would I expect it to be this crowded on a Sunday in October.
We get the park and decide to head over to Medusa seeing that every coaster would have at least a 2 hour wait. On the way over we saw Rolling Thunder... My eyes must have been tricking me... I saw PAINT! I couldnt believe it! It looked great. Anyway, Medusa was no exception to having a 2 hour wait. The switchbacks were completely filled, and the line was going past the path across the water. No way was I waiting.
All of a sudden, my friends dad was like "Im getting Q-Bot, wait here." Cool. I like this! To pass the time, we went into the big Teepee souvenier shop (God how I love that place) and started messing around with the digital camera. In other words, we played "dress up" (There were lots of crazy hats there), got in crazy poses, and took pictures. Talk about hilarious!
Soon enough her dad got back and to our extreme pleasure, he had purchased a gold q-bot. Nope, it wasnt gold. Just looked normal. But it worked like a charm.
Medusa: Great ride near the front. Probably running the best I have ever seen it run. Fast ops!
Runaway minetrain: I really like this ride. Its pretty smooth, fun and relaxing! Always worth riding.
Rolling Thunder: PAINT!! The ride was running very well too. Plenty of airtime, and it was decently smooth! Hopefully by 2003 it will be running incredibly.
Viper: Muahahaha! Viper wasnt open. Good thing too, I wasnt in the mood for getting my jaw knocked out of place.
Chiller: Insane night ride. Great as always, only Robin was running. =(
Batman: Easily my best ride on this ever. I dont know what was going on, but all the coasters were running their best. This ride was smooth, intense, fast and just exhilerating. The ops were fast as hell too.
Nitro: Best ride on Nitro in the past 2 years. This thing was giving airtime like you wouldnt believe! My friend whom wasnt very fond of Nitro before, fell in love with it (Well, not literally of course).
Dolphin Show: We decided to take a breake and see the Dolphin show. It was a nice show, corny but fun!
Blackbeards Lost Treasure Train: What would have been a 5 minute wait turned into a 20 minute wait due to some guy accusing 2 FIVE YEAR OLD GIRLS of line jumping him!!!! Jeeese.... Nice ride though! My friend liked it.
Fright Fest: Fright Fest looked pretty good. Terror Trails were lame, but the fog and lighting effects around the park were great!
What would have been an awful day, turned into a great one with the help of a digital camera and Q-Bot. Eventually Ill get those pictures put up on Yahoo or something....

Holiday World; Knoebel's-today's cures for today's common theme park :-D
Legend...who would have thought that a tree could be turned into such madness :-D
Intamin Fan: I think that the ride op did do the right thing in giving the guy his seat (Seeing that the customer is always right) but I dont necessarily think that the man should have been so upset. They are only small girls, and kids will be kids. Oh and, I wish Q-Bot was implemented at other parks (Cedar point!!) since it really makes a day at a park much more enjoyable.
Tim: Awesome trip report?? I write terrible ones! But I appreciate the compliment :) Anyway, too bad we were never able to meet up again, but of course there is always next year (And Eastcoaster!). And with the retracking, rehab of the trains, and painting of rolling thunder, I might actually make it a priority to ride it every time I go.

Freeway stamps are very different from Q-bot. They are the same general idea, but executed much differently.
Freeway: You get a stamp on your hand, you may only use it once a day and usually there is a line to get one (particularly for Millennium Force stamps)
Q-Bot: Q-bot is an electronical device that can be used several times throughout the day, and you dont need to wait in any line to reserve it usually.
So basically, the idea is the same, but the execution is different seeing that one uses stamps and can be used once per day, and the other is an electronical device that has no limit to how many times you can use it.

Enjoyable report. I had gone the day before, and it was busy as all hell too. I got a Q-bot too, but really felt it was not worth the money, I only managed to get a few rides with it, I had better luck asking the ops if I could fill empty seats :)
I am also very happy to see some TLC going into Rolling Thunder, it really is a fun ride, and it would be nice if it were run in the racing mode once again.
