SFGADV 6/26

I didnt think a tuesday would be so bad but the crowds sucked. the 93 degree heat made it even harder to stand inline for some rides. the water rides were all running so it made for somefun.

the rides :

NITRO- this ride ruled as usual. it was running a little faster than usual as well.probably do to the heat.the lift seemed to move quicker. i heard some body mention that before and it appeared to take a little less time to get up the hill. the ride was fast and hard. the helix had some intense g's but the brake run kinda killed it with the semi-hard brakes. i felt a lot of g's at the bottom of the last bunny hop before the brakes( which were really hard). great ride.( for a great view of nitro- ride the river rapids ride, i forgot the name, but you can get a great shot of nitros drop)

MEDUSA- ok, a huge line( an hour wiait) , 3 trains operating, a lot of heat. as i arrived at the station, the ride ops were havng trouble gettin the train out of the station. this wouldnt really bother me at all, but the fact that the stupid OP at the controls was laughing while this was happening kinda pissed me off. made me feel a little unsafe. so a left the line after waiting an hour. didnt bother me much, i got my season pass and have been on the ride 20 somethin times before. but it was just a odd seeing the OP laughing at the malfunction, or poor controling of the ride. the temporarily closed the ride for about 15 minutes and everyone left the queue, well almost everyone. bummer

me and my friends were like " thank you for standing in 'THE LINE' at Six Flags Great Adventure, enjoy the rest of your stay!"

BATMAN and the CHILLER- long lines, the chiller ran well all day, only the batman side, i always saw it running with people, so it was fine. Batman was great, around 9 30 pm some guy lost his wallet so they shut down the ride, people were getting pissed and alot complaining opened the ride agian. awesome at night.

SKULL MOUNTAIN - no line, fun in the back car. a lot of air on the drop that comes out of no where. people think this ride is lame, i like it alot, it got more intense and rough. alot of fun.

i only got to ride NITRO, BATMAN and SKULL MT. that day, the lines were to long and it was too hot to do anything else besides water rides and some flat rides. Z FORCE was running late in the day, and the SCREAM MACHINE was down all day till about 9 o'clock at night. thats when i noticed it. some guy was on the drop all day fixin somthing...ROLLING THUNDER was runnin both sides, VIPER looked lonley, RUNAWAY TRAIN opened late in the day. i still havent seen EVOLUTION move since it was installed. why do they bother to keep this ride? so-so day at the park.

thank goodnes they had those shower things runnin all day for us peeps to cool off. otherwise, the weather was beautiful. just the crowds killed the fun.
I visited the park last year on a Tuesday, and I experienced the same problems with overcrowding. It was so ridiculous that we mainly rode flat rides. We didn't even manage to get on any of the major coasters, including GASM. The only cool coaster we rode was The Chiller, Batman side. As for Evolution, I have talked to several live human beings who've ridden it this year and liked it. After three trips in last two years to SFGAdv. I'll agree that it would nice to see it running. Maybe I'll luck out this year.

Great, this report just dashed my hopes for smallish crowds this Monday, 7/2. Bummer.
Funny, you mention Nitro was going faster due to the heat but check this thread out, same type of coaster, same temp, weird huh?

i think from this point on the park will be crowded, hopefully when september rolls around the crowds will die out a bit- untill frightfest. i plan on goin back to ride nitro all day, i got my season pass! i just plan on goin on days when it might rain, like 50/50 weather. i noticed it scares alot of people out of the park and kinda stops them from coming into it.
