SFGAd to get Impulse???

Ive heard from Coaster Force that SFGAd will take out vier for 2002 and put in an Intamin Impulse coaster. So maybe more than one Viper will leave for 2002.
hey bad, i heard that earlier myself.  the viper footprint would be great for an IMpulse, but to be honest, i think it would be AWESOME if they put a Deja Vu there...that would ROCK!!  either that or a good CCI woodie...that would go good with the themeing in that area, not to mention take people of that terrible rolling thunder...freakin torture device..

ROLLERCOASTERS....BETTER THAN OXYGEN BABY!!!!!!
Well, some type of new coaster will be put in Viper's place for the 2002 season.

Let's hope it's something good!

V2 has horrible capacity. Unless SFGAdv gets two Impulses, I highly doubt that park will get an Impulse (don't forget, SFGAdv gets the most visitors per year of any Six Flags park [yes, more than SFMM]). But then again, nothing surprises me with Six Flags, Inc. anymore.

Matthew. While V2 is a low capacity coaster, I was pleasantly surprised at how fast the line moved for V2 at SFGAm which also has a high attendance rate per year. The ride ops were moving at great speeds to get the train launched.

"The Peoples Elbow" or "The Spinaroonie?. Cant decide which is the most electrifying move in sports entertainment!!! LOL
I doubt that SFADv will get anything new next year exept something to replace the parachutes and they are getting Alcatraz The Ride. The things SFGAd plan on doing that I know of are

Batman The Chiller getting lap bars

New Paint jobs for the Chiller and Batman The Ride.

Alcatraz The Ride

Replacing The Parachute

Above all that it would be an aweful lot of money for an impulse to. And Viper has been running, you can tell by the light brown rust and not a heavy rust like Robin had. Something has been on those rails after park hours. Its probably running all week while the parks closed. Viper is going nowhere.

I also heard that these LIM rides use mucho power, which was the reason the chiller no longer duels. Therefore I think the chances are pretty slim!
The Chiller may duel next season however because Robin doesn't use the full power of the boosters on the incline anymore which was the reason it never worked before.
I have a feeling that Batman & Robin don't "duel" anymore because of ride capacity.  With each train only holding 20 riders, the capacity of the ride is low enough without having to wait for both sides to load up and take off.  With each train being dispatched when ready, this eliminates the need to hold one train back while the other gets ready.  Just my theory...

Second, as much as I would like to see the park get an Impulse next year, I have a feeling that is wishful thinking and nothing more.  I am pretty positive that Nitro cost upwards of $20 million, and with Six Flags cutting back on spending next year, I doubt that we will see parks receive new coasters on a yearly basis (even the best Six Flags parks).  My hopes are high for a B&M flying coaster to arrive at the park in 2003 (SFGAdv seems to be something of a new B&M testing ground), and if that happens, I don't think we will be seeing any new coasters next year.
