SFGAD JULY 6

I always wear zippered pocket shorts since I don't trust button or velcro pockets. It's nice to be able to ride a coaster with a lot of air time or many inversions and focus on the ride and not have to worry about items falling out of pockets. I also read that Great Adventure is now only allowing you to bring items like cellphones with you while riding if they are in a button or zippered pocket. Otherwise, they are requiring people to use lockers (the old policy was that they just had to be in any kind of pocket).

It is pretty difficult to find pants with zippered pockets, especially if you're a girl, but they really are a lifesaver. I still bring a small bag with me with a brush, ID, and some other necessities, but with the zipper pockets, I can now bring a little cash and stuff on the ride with me so I don't have to always be walking back to a locker all the time. It is nice.

Bunky, you're right that it's difficult to find pants with zippered pockets especially if you're a girl. I had to search long and hard for them but did find a couple of companies that made them and they certainly are a lifesaver. This season my go to the park wardrobe consists of Salomon Wayfarer Shorts, which feature 4 zipper pockets and hold all the junk I tend to carry around. I would highly recommend them. They aren't cheap but anyone who needs a park-compatible wardrobe might be able to get them on eBay, as I did: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Salomon-Womens-Wayfarer-Short-2014-/161...258ae669d0

The trains on NTG (as well as many Disney rides) have zippered mesh pockets built right into the seat. I think it's to speed up the loading process.

But then again, what do I know?

Bobbie, I also found a pair of Calvin Klein capris with a zipper pocket, and my absolute favorite pants in the world (although the most ridiculously priced as well) are a pair of charcoal gray lightweight pants from Athleta with zippered pockets on the sides and in the back. They were obscenely expensive, but the zippers stay put very well, they're flattering, easy drying, and you can adjust them to be pants or capris or even long shorts. If they weren't so prohibitively expensive, I would have bought a few pairs.
