SFGA or Kennywood??

Wondered what everybody thinks of these parks, and if there usually busy towards the end of August? I've always wanted to ride Raging Bull.

Kennywood is an awesome park. When you go, you must get some potato patch fries with seasonings, cheese, and gravy. You will not be disappointed. Their coasters are all fun and Phantoms Revenge is an awesome ride!

I cant comment however on SFGam since I have never been there.

I will give the side of SFGAM. Raging Bull, Viper, Batman The Ride, Deja Vu, V2, Whizzer. I think those are great reasons to go to the park. I have never been to Kennywood and will someday. The dining aspect of things isn't all that great, but for a fun time on some great coasters I would go with SFGAM.

From my experiences, you don't have to worry too much about when you visit Kennywood. The park is compact (Very dense with LOTS of stuff in a small area), so it looks crowded, but the lines usually go very fast. The longest I've ever waited was during ERT at the last two ACE Coaster Cons there. During the day, the lines were shorter with the GP.

As for Great America, Anytime after the kids are out of school, it's probably going to be pretty busy. Definitely avoid it on Saturdays. I was there on a Friday night in August back in 1990 for the Iron Wolf ACE event, and the lines were not bad at all (except for Iron Wolf of course), but ever since Batman opened, the park seems to be busier whenever I visit. Go on a Tuesday if you can. Avoid the weekends, but again, anytime at Kennywood should be fine, but the middle of the week should also be better.

Vs. Thread. Hah! Both are two of my favorite parks and both have atleast one great woodie and good coasters in general.. Be sure to ride the Whizzer at GM and yes, get some potato patch cheese fries at Kennywood.

Both are in my top five favorite parks. SFGAM is on par with CP and PKI, Kennywood just is so beutiful, great foods and great rides. You can't go wrong with either but if i had to choose it would probably be Kennywood just because of PR but Viper and Raging Bull at SFGAM are nothing to sneeze at either. Tough Choice

The Beast and Night, They go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly

Kennywood is just so different and unique with there flats, and there classic wooden coasters! Kennywood doesn't try to compete with other parks, I think they try to be different from other parks;) I've never been to SFGA but would like to go one time.

:)KENNYWOOD:)

Have you ever been on a coaster from 1920? Didn't think so. Ever done a double dip? Probably not. Ever been chased by huge rats? Didn't think so. Ever ridden a green bucking braunco? Didn't think so. Ever tasted the best fries in the world? Didn't think so. Ever looked across a river at a huge industrial development? Wait a minute... Ever felt like you were in the year 1930? Probably not.

Now... SFGAM.

Ever ridden an Impulse coaster? I thought so. Ever ridden a bangy Arrow looper? I thought so. Ever ridden an Arrow loopscrew? I thought so. Ever ridden a B:TR clone? I thought so.

Need I go on?
