SIX FLAGS FIESTA TEXAS
MARCH 14, 2002

WOW! This park is awesome. 3 coasters were down and I still had a great time. The themeing was excellent, it was definitely a "spare no expense" type of thing. The fact the park was built in a quarry was a neat thing. The "canyon" wall setting jsut added to the beauty of the park. If I had my way, I would have one huge waterfall all the way around the park instead of in a few places. Neat stuff. Oh and I also loved the architecture. So neat...now on to the rides! (review uses the 1- to 5+ scale)

=================================
ROADRUNNER EXPRESS
5+
2 rides - 1 front, 1 - back

Easily the best minetrain I have ever been on. Smooth and entertaining. I loved the Wile E. Coyote themeing and some the characters you had to ride twice to see everything. Neat stuff that I wish other Six Flags parks would do.

=================================
RATTLER
Closed for Retracking :(

=================================
POLTERGEIST
Closed because of accident when firing up new trains

=================================
JOKER'S REVENGE
Closed because it sucked ;)

=================================
SUPERMAN: KRYPTON COASTER
5+++
4 rides - 2 front, 2 back

Other than the name, this ride was the best coaster in TEXAS. There is not a dull moment on the entire course. Ride on the right side of the train for some awesome airtime and visuals. The turn up on the wall after the vertical loop is quite disorienting leading into the barrel roll. The midcourse trim was barely on the entire day and they ran three trains as well the entire day. Also the park was implementing the "Double Rides" promotion so that made it even better...lines were tolerable even with it.

=================================
BOOMERANG
2-
1 ride - back

It was a Boomerang, and I only rode it to add to the track record. I still dislike these things...I swear they are like weeds.

=================================
DER ROLLSCHUHCOASTER
2+
1 ride

What a name, had to look it up to spell it correctly. A fun little rollerskater ride, that I again had to borrow a kid to ride. :)
=================================
OTHER RIDES:
----------------------
SCREAM
5+
2 rides

A Double shot with attitude. This was my first one of this type of S&S tower. It was quite interesting how they combined the two types (shot & drop) into one. Loved it.
----------------------
FRISBEE
4+
1 ride

I like these rides. This was the first one I have been on and it was so much fun. IMHO this ride was the result of a Sea Dragon and a Wipeout having a child. :)
----------------------
DER TWISTER
3+
1 ride

A Topspin, I didn't like the program this one was running, it wasn't too "woo hoo". I have been on better and I hope ThunderHawk runs a better program, as well as TR:TR.
----------------------
BUG'S WHITE WATER RAPIDS
4+
1 ride

Loved the themeing and the ride was a lot of fun. The "rollercoaster-type" drop was an added bonus to this fun ride.
----------------------
THE HUSTLER
3-
1 ride

Almost made me sick, loved the billards theme to it.
----------------------
GULLY WASHER
4-
1 ride

Very good layout, got everyone on our boat soaked. Loved it! The waterfall it EVIL :D

PARK OVERALL GRADE: A
POINTS TO IMPROVE ON:
I think that they need an inverted, granted SWT is down the road, but they need one. Also another woodie would suit the park well. Also just a personal thing, if you are going to have a boardwalk area, have a body of water for it...I think that would be neat. Other than that, this park rocked, even with the closed coasters.

GO HUSKERS!

Good report. Consider yourself lucky not to have ridden Joker's Revenge. The one time I rode last year was one too many.

As for Polty and Rattler, they definalely need the overhauls their getting. I rode both last year and both were way too painfull to be much fun. I can't wait to drive down later in the year to try the improved versions of both.

I pretty much agree on Superman:KC. It was awesome when I rode it. I was fortunate that the park wasn't too crowded during my 2 and a half day visit. And all the coasters were up and running. This made for shorter lines on most of them.

I managed to get 57 total laps on S:KC and about 33 on RR Express during the morning Primetime. Most of those laps were re-rides.

I still put Titan slightly ahead of S:KC however. I'm a speed and intensity freak and Titan has more of both in my book. S:KC was awesome in it's own right however.

TITAN RULES!

Well the thing I dislike about Titan is that it relys way too much on curves. If you have ever watched the Vicent Price coaster documentary "America Screams", I have to agree 100% with Allen about what he says about the original "Mr. Twister". He said "Curves do not do anything for people." I have to agree with him, I prefer Mamba over Titan because it has more hills. When you come down to it Titan has 2 main hills and then curves. The layout would have been so much better had it have another camel back or two. But then again MHO ;)
