SFEG Update

I was in the park today and just thought a few of you would like to know what is happening at SFEG.
-All Pepsi references have been removed, the Pepsi Grove Pavilions is now the Mountain Grove Pavilions.
-The cover over the What's Up Rock! stage in Kiddieland collapsed during the blizzard.
-A couple of umbrellas and lampposts succumbed to excessive snow.
-The two polynesian women on the Rainbow are wrapped in shirts, no big deal, but they look cool. :)
-One of the new Twister trains is sitting on the access road, under covers of course. Each of cars are painted the same, the first row is blue and the second and third rows are red. The seats have the orange lapbars and each seat also has its own seatbelt. The cars look good brand new and sparkly, you can see your reflection in the chrome. PTC goodness at its finest :) :). While its sad to see the old, original Twister trains go, the new trains should make the ride better.

Just another quick update. The train has had the white stars and stripes decals added. Now it's the most patriotic ride in the park. Now we've got American flag goodness :) and new PTC goodness :) . Oh say can you see...

I had heard it was going to be American Flag themed, but last weekend when I looked at it it was still red and blue. Good to hear.

I'm glad to see that they're here, but what did they do with the old trains?

I can only feel one spot of airtime on Twister II, Monto, and that comes on the little double-up. I doubt these trains will reduce any airtime.
The old trains are stored in the boneyard behind the Twister. I heard they are supposed to go to the ACE museum.

Even though this topic is old. The New trains are running on the Twister and make the ride smoother than ever. the old trains are still stored in the Supervisor Parking Lot behind Twister, Unfortunetly they are nnot fully covered. They are going to the ACE museum for display. The Rainbow ride hasn't been operating all season because of Mechanical problems, it was running all this week but on last thursday June 19 it broke down again. It will probably be running within the next two weeks. Shake Rattle and Roll is severely broke down The Mechanics are having trouble getting the two arms and the gondola into the unloading and loading position. Hollywood Vine has been down alot because of problems with the Motors. Boomerang has been broken down alot (they really should just remove it itsa crap anyway) Mostly trouble with the lifting mechanism on the lift hill that starts the ride. The observation Tower is open alot more than it usually is. and Sidewinder is actually being run all day now instead of only until 2pm.

It really is a shame about Shake, Rattle, and Roll. I was really beginning to like that ride.

As far as Sidewinder goes, I'm pretty sure it has always been open past 2 P.M., they just close it down a lot due to wind I believe.

Mister Twister said: The Rainbow ride hasn't been operating all season because of Mechanical problems, it was running all this week but on last thursday June 19 it broke down again. It will probably be running within the next two weeks.

Wrong. They were waiting for parts, the ride is running albeit at half loads.

Shake Rattle and Roll is severely broke down The Mechanics are having trouble getting the two arms and the gondola into the unloading and loading position.

I believe they are waiting for parts. I don't think they are having issues moving it from the position it currently is in.

Hollywood Vine has been down alot because of problems with the motors.

It was not motors. It was closed down for a couple days to add seatbelts.

Boomerang has been broken down alot (they really should just remove it itsa crap anyway) Mostly trouble with the lifting mechanism on the lift hill that starts the ride.

Again they had to wait for parts before the ride could reopen.

Sidewinder is actually being run all day now instead of only until 2pm.

BullSh*t. Sidewinder has been running consistently all season.

Sidewinder closed everyday last year at 2 pm since i didn't work at Elitch's but i went there alot and every single time i went there Sidewinder closed early I know they had to wait for freakin parts you don't have to be such a ***** about it OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know they are waiting for the damn parts. and forget i even decided to post here in the **** hole

Dude, I am a rides manager and J. is a rides supervisor at SFEG. I believe that Shake is parked in that position because they are doing work underneah the ride, and in order to do that the carrier had to be out of the way. And trust me, Sidewinder was open pretty much every day last year until 9 or close. How do I know? Most of the time I was the operator. We aren't trying to attack you, just correct your assumptions. Chill out.

"Every day is a bad day on Hollywood and Vine!"

Rainbow was working again today, and I think Hollywood and Vine was also. So I think Shake, Rattle, and Roll was the only major ride down, but I could be wrong. It looks like things might be getting back on track finally.
